This book is dedicated to all the brave soldiers who fought in the Vietnam War and to the families who supported them. Their sacrifice and courage will never be forgotten.

The Vietnam War was a conflict between North and South Vietnam. It began in 1955, after Vietnam was divided into communist North and democratic South. The Geneva Accords in 1954 established the division of the country and the withdrawal of French troops.

The US got involved in the Vietnam War in 1965, after the Gulf of Tonkin incident. The US believed that North Vietnamese boats had attacked US ships in the Gulf of Tonkin, but the actual facts are still unclear.

The US military used various tactics during the Vietnam War. These included aerial bombardment, search and destroy missions, and the use of chemical weapons such as Agent Orange.

The Vietnam War had several key battles, including the Tet Offensive, the Battle of Khe Sanh, and the Battle of Hamburger Hill. These battles were intense and resulted in significant casualties on both sides.

The Vietnam War involved many important figures, including Ho Chi Minh, the communist leader of North Vietnam; General William Westmoreland, the commander of US troops in Vietnam; and John McCain, a US Navy pilot who was shot down and taken prisoner.

The American public was divided on the Vietnam War. Some believed that it was a necessary fight against communism, while others saw it as an unjust and unnecessary conflict.

The Vietnam War ended in 1975, under the presidency of Gerald Ford. The Paris Peace Accords were signed in 1973, which called for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of US troops. However, the war continued until the fall of Saigon in 1975.

The Vietnam War had significant physical, psychological, and financial effects on both the Vietnamese and American populations. On the American side, over 58,000 soldiers were killed and over 300,000 were injured. The war also resulted in the imprisonment or disappearance of around 2,500 American soldiers who were classified as Missing in Action (MIA) or Prisoners of War (POW). This left a lasting impact on the families and communities of these soldiers, who continue to seek answers and closure to this day
