- Annie

It was a nice sunny day when Grandpa decided to stop along the way, to pick up Nate for their Saturday fishing trip.
Each fishing trip was special to Grandpa and Nate, but this one was one that would not be forgotten.
As Grandpa and Nate got to their favorite fishing spot, under the big shade tree, they saw a fish jump out of the water, and they both laughed with excitement.
Grandpa told Nate, "It looks like this is the start to a great fishing story."
Nate giggles replying, "Yeah Grandpa. "
Nate and Grandpa were fishing when they caught a big fish on the line, and both of them had to reel it in.
They fought to reel the fish in, for hours, or so it seemed. Until finally they caught the fish.
Woohoo! Nate and Grandpa shout, when they finally get a look at the fish.
WIth smiles on their faces they release the fish and wait for another bite.
After waiting for another fish to bite, but no luck, not even a nibble, Grandpa has something to share with Nate.
Nate? "Yes, sir?" Nate Replied
I have something I want to tell you. "What is it?" Nate Asked.
Well I have to take a trip..."OH WOW! A Trip! Can I come, can I come, please, please, please! "Nate shouted.
Well I can't take you with me.Why not? Nate asked.Because your Mom and Dad would be upset if you left them.
Oh, well where are you going, Grandpa? Grandpa replied "I am going to a place far away, and I will not be able to come visit, while I am gone." "Why not?" Nate asked with a shaking voice. Well that is just part of life's journey, sometimes people have to go on a trip for a long time and they can't come back.
But why can't I go with you Grandpa?
Because your Mom and Dad need you here with them.
But I'm gonna miss you Grandpa.
And I'm gonna miss you too. But, I want you to do something for me while I am gone.
What is it Grandpa?
I want you to remember this, when you miss me, always remember the I Am's.
"The I Am's, what is that?" Nate questioned.
First, I Am always with you wherever you go.
I Am the rays of sunshine shining down through the clouds.
I Am the cool breeze that blows.
I Am the big fish that jumps out of the water at our favorite fishing spot.
I Am the butterfly that flutters near you.
I Am the rain drops falling from the clouds.
I Am the fireflies dancing around after the sunset.
I Am the brightest star in the night sky.
And most importantly, I Am always in your heart.
I've wrote them down for you, just in case you need a reminder, but the I Am's are Here to help you find me while I am gone.
Nate, can you remember those things for me?
I'll try Grandpa!
Well just in case take this letter, in case you ever want to read them again. Make sure you put it in a special place.
Nate took the letter from his Grandpa and put it in his tackle box.
They headed back home.
When Grandpa and Nate got back home they told Nate's Mom and Dad about their adventure, during dinner.
When they finished dinner, Nate got ready for bed and wanted Grandpa to put him to bed, so Grandpa went with Nate and tucked him into bed giving him a goodnight kiss.
"I love you Grandpa!" Nate shouted.
With a smile, Grandpa replied I love you too Nate.
Hey Grandpa! "Yes Nate?" Grandpa questioned. "Are we gonna go fishing next Saturday?"
"Sure" Grandpa replied.
