Hello ladies and gentlemen! Grandma Nelly is back today with another recipe to share with you all featuring my cat Whiskers!

What I'll be preparing today is a tea made from the Marsh Marigold plant. You can even refer to it by it's scientific name "Caltha Palustris."

This is a fairly simple recipe. All you need is a kettle, bowl, spoon, and don't forget your marigold leaves!!!

Here is a picture of the plant! As you can see, it's a vibrant yellow colour with round tooth leaves. The plant is typically 12-24 inches and they believe it is a flower bearing Herbaceous perennial plant.

They can usually be found in wetland areas such as swamps, marshes and damp meadows. Geographically, they are located in Asia, North America and Europe.  

Luckily, I'm located in Southern Ontario where they're very prominent in Wilket Creek in the spring.  I usually collect these leaves to create a tea or sometimes even lotion! 

The leaves has a toxic compound called protoanemonin. If this enters our body, we risk having poisoning or irritation to the digestive system. Luckily, this is destroyed by heat so that's why you see me boiling water.

After the water is boiled, put your leaves in the bowl and pour the water in it. Now, your going to keep it there for 30 minutes.
