#1 - The scary ferry ride
Dear Diary,
Today I went to the beach. I saw a big boat and I asked my parents what type of boat it was. They replied and said it was a ferry, and they also said we can go on it right now
because it will leave in 5 minutes. I replied straightaway saying yes please, let’s definitely go! As those 5 minutes past, I started to feel butterflies in my tummy. But I thought no, we are still going to
on the big boat because it will 99.9% be amazing! So, when it was time to hop on, I ran all the way to the front of the boat to get the best view. My parents followed behind me. As I sat
down, I was jumping in my seat! I was so excited! I heard the big announcement saying: In the event of a crash, life jackets will be stored under the seat. As I heard that, I thought of course there won’t be a crash. Well, most likely. I had to wait a long
time for all the passengers to hop on. It took about 5 minutes. I was so excited as we started to move. But for some reason, the ferry we were on started to turn around. Fortunately, daddy said that it was spinning
on purpose. After that I started writing in my diary.
15 minutes later
Dear Diary,
I have some terrible news.
Really unfortunately, I fell asleep on the boat. As I was asleep, there must have been an announcement saying: everyone, collect your life jackets and hop of the boat. So, I got left on the boat all by myself. But do you
want to know why everyone had to get off the ferry? Well, there was a seal near the boat in the water and it was playing with a fish. It was doing cool tricks with the fish in it’s mouth but it was a trick and instead of the fish
landing in the seal’s mouth, it landed in the boat’s motor. So the ferry was going to break down any minute. So that’s why I was left on the boat by myself.
I am now running all around the boat looking for a spare life jacket.
I spent about 5 minutes running around the boat over and over again until finally, I gave up. I decided to jump a big jump onto another ferry which had loads of spare life jackets. So I jumped back onto our original ferry and looked into the water.
Unfortunately, I saw many people who were in the ferry including my parents in the water. They all looked like they needed help in the water. It was my turn to save the day. So I got into action.
I ran along the beach asking people if
I could borrow their phone but no body let me. I was about to give up and save them myself without having to call the ambulance but I realised something that made me think I was quite silly. Why didn’t I think of this earlier? I thought to myself.
So I ran all the way back to where I started running across the beach and found the closest yellow and red flags. Oh here they are. I thought to myself. I told them all about what had
happened. After I had explained, the lifesavers ran into the water and grabbed everyone who fell off the boat and carried them to safety. Everyone thanked me for saving their lives. I got a cool mini lifesaver certificate and a
delicious summer Ice block. My parents were so delighted that I saved them and even many people. I felt rather happy. I’m probably going to be a life saver when I grow up.
Ps : When it was nighttime, I had a dream of me being a lifesaver. It must be a sign!

#2 My new pet
Dear Diary,
Right now I am sitting in my room doing basically nothing. I am at home because I’m sick and I really wish I had a dog. I keep asking my parents and telling them that I will do anything for them if
they let me get one. Diary, do you have any ideas for any plans I can use? I’m going to go play a board game with my big sister. Her name is Larny. She’s sick at home too.
About 15 minutes later…
I’m back! The board game we
played was called “monkey fun!”. Well I didn’t win you know, but Larny did. It’s this game where you have to do mathematics like division and the first to get 20 right wins and you also can be a blue or a yellow monkey as your character. Mum said we should play this board
game because today we are supposed to be at school but we are home sick. And in case you were wondering, at school I am in year 4 and Larny is in year 8. I don’t know what kind of virus I have but Larny has it too.
I will now go in my room and see if I can make any plans to convince my parents to get me a dog.
After some planning…
I couldn’t think of any plans. Fortunately, Larny had an idea.
Well, I bet you want to know what Larny’s plan was, don’t you? Well she said that maybe we could write a persuasive text together and give it to mum and dad. I agreed to her plan straightaway. So we started making it and Larny’s just finishing it off now.
I will now see how she’s going.
About 30 minutes later…
I’m back! And guess what? We showed it to mum and dad and they finally said yes!
Well, that was after a lot of convincing. Unfortunately, mum and dad said we have to get it tomorrow. Well it kind of works because tomorrow’s Saturday and it’s a weekend. I’m now in bed, and I’m so excited!
Saturday, in the morning…
We had pancakes for breakfast! Yum, yum! I had extra maple syrup on mine. Whoopsies! I hope mum doesn’t notice that some is missing!
But here comes the good part… our new dog! But here’s what happened: so when we arrived at the pet shop, there was sadly only one dog left. When I said sadly you probably thought I was weird because
we could have gotten the last one, but that’s not what happened. So when we asked the pet-shop-shop-keeper if we could get the last one, he said that someone was coming to pick it up in about 20 minutes. So after that, we just went shopping for about 15 minutes but then, we came
back to the pet shop and here comes the good news: the last dog had a baby!!!! And then, the person who was going to get the last dog said we could buy its new baby! So we got a little puppy! So I guess sometimes Larny’s plans do work.
I will now thank Larny for her plan, and then I will go play with Larny’s and my new dog.
I’ve learnt that dogs like to play fetch. So I’ll go get my ball I bought at the pet shop and it was only 2 dollars so if it gets
ruined, it doesn’t matter. Oh, and I forgot to tell you, Larny and I aren’t sick any more!
Sunday afternoon…
Guess what! We named our new puppy…Billy!!! Isn’t it a cute name for such a cute dog! And by the way, the 2 dollar dog ball did not get ruined.

#3 weirdness at school
Dear Diary,
Guess what? At school today we are starting to learn running writing! And my teacher, Miss Smith told us that another word for running writing is called cursive!
And she also told us to like try to start connecting the letters together when we write, but I’m not very good at that. Just look how bad I am:
Hi I am Elvia!
But, Miss Smith said that soon we will know how to do it properly.
But more importantly, my best friend Lilly, she’s in the dance group at school. Well, also I am but Lilly told me that at lunch today, she was going into the hall to rehearse the dance but she literally saw
zombies. And I saw it too. Unfortunately, I can’t show you but there were absolutely 20 zombies. But after about 1 minute, they all disappeared. Well, it’s nighttime and I’m writing this right here, on my bed, but I’m supposed to be
asleep. So good night diary. Sleep tight. I’ll talk to you again after school tomorrow.
THE NEXT DAY, AFTER SCHOOL…
Something’s weird is happening at school. Daisy who is a girl in
my class got in trouble by a teacher at recess because she didn’t have her hat on but she did! And even the teacher who got her in trouble wasn’t even wearing a hat. It’s so unfair diary. And even for prove
that she was wearing her hat is here: I sneakily brought my camera to school and took a photo of her with her hat on. Look!
Poor Daisy! She
didn’t do anything
wrong!
Goodnight Diary, talk to you tomorrow afternoon.
Friday afternoon…
Dear Diary,
At school today we had to do a super easy maths test and there
were only 5 questions and I definitely, super definitely, definitely so much that I got at least one question right. One was 6 times 11. Easy!! And another one was 100 divided into 2 groups. 50! But at the end of the test it said I got everything
wrong! Something weird is definitely going on. So now that’s been Daisy getting in trouble for no reason, the zombies in the hall and my maths test. Well, goodnight diary.
Monday After school…
Dear Diary,
Guess what? Miss Smith taught us how to do cursive properly today at school and Miss Smith said I was really good at it! She said mine was
the best in the class so she awarded me with something called a pen license. So now I can use a pen at school instead of a boring pencil that is always blunt. But here’s even better news than that. Are you ready for it?
So you know that mystery of Daisy getting in trouble for no reason, the zombies and my maths test? Well today Lily and I solved it. So what happened was at recess we saw a girl and she had her recess in a small bag made out of navy blue wool. She then left to have a drink
of water at the bubblers but while she was gone, two boys in our class, named Bobby and Yam and their friends came and put a fake snake in the bag.
So when the girl came back, she put her hand in the bag to get some biscuits, instead of her taking out
biscuits, she took out the fake snake. Then she screamed and ran away. Lily and I both saw this and we decided to tell a teacher about what was going on. So when we told the teacher on duty, ( it was Mrs Scima ) she had said that she saw them acting like zombies
in the hall, taking off a girl called Daisy’s hat, sneakily crossing everything wrong on a girl’s mathematics test and simply doing this. So I told Mrs Scima that we saw it all too and it was my mathematics test that they crossed all the answers on.
So Lily and I can’t believe we solved a mystery!
Oh, and great news to our mystery solving, Bobby, Yam and their friend all got in trouble. Now they had a talk to Mr Tonwer, the school principal and Miss Smith
had a meeting about it with all their parents. So I’m so glad we don’t have to worry about it anymore! Woo hoo!
THE END!
#4 My Holiday in LOnDON
Dear Diary,
It’s the holidays! And guess where I am right now? I’m on a plane! And guess where I’m going to! It’s London! My whole family is coming, my mum, my dad, Larny and me. I just said that my whole family was
coming is because sometimes my sister, Larny doesn’t always come like on a ferry ride I once went on. I even wrote a diary about like this one. It’s number 1 of this series. But right now it’s nighttime, I’m having dinner on the plane. I’m having chicken, chips, rice and potatoes and for dessert I’m
going to have raspberry, chocolate and mango 3-scooped- ice- cream. Look, it so pretty out my window of the plane! I can already see London! I can see other planes in the sky and the city in London near to where we are staying.
Ding, Ding!
My ice cream must be here! It’s delicious! Yum, yummy!
Ok good night and see you again tomorrow in London!
Tomorrow… after I woke up
Dear Diary,
We haven’t landed yet but we will in about an hour. I’m having fried eggs for breakfast. But diary, I forgot to tell you something really important. Do you want to know even why we came to London? Well we’re here
to visit my cousins who live here. We won’t be staying at their house but we will definitely visit them. Daddy keeps annoying me by asking questions like when will we land and stuff to the pilots so I am going to pack you up and talk to you after we settle into our hotel because I can’t focus.
After we’ve settled into our hotel…
Dearest Diary,
We’ve just landed in London but I can’t tell you much because mummy is calling us to leave and visit our
cousins at their house so bye-bye diary.
After we came back from visiting our cousins well I think it’s about midday…
Dearing Darling Dearest Diary,
What just happened was super crazy.
This is what happened: We caught a train to near our cousin’s house( and in case you were wondering, our cousins names is Madison and Cerlo).
Then when we arrived on Madison, Cerlo, Uncle Avner and Aunty Ella’s street, we ran up to number 29, ( their house number) and knocked on their door. We waited and waited but they didn’t answer. So then finally, we barged in. Through the front door, up the stairs, into Madison and
Cerlo’s bedroom but they weren’t in there. I told my mum, Larny and my dad but dad reckons that they were hiding but they were not. So we left and on the way back guess what? On the train we saw Madison and Cerlo, Uncle Avner and Aunty Ella! We asked them that we visited but they
were not home. They replied saying that they got mixed up with the holidays and thought we were coming next term break. But we corrected them by saying no, it’s this term break that we are visiting. So by all of that, it was nearly the evening so they offered
us if we wanted to go to a restaurant with them to have dinner. We said yes and we had delicious dinner.
THE END!
#5 Chocolate Fundraising
Dearest Diary,
At school today when we had assembly, Mr Towner our school principal said that we all have to fundraise chocolates to have enough money to replace one of the classroom’s roof because it is leaking.
Luckily, the classroom’s roof that is leaking isn’t mine. Mr Towner also said that the person who sells the most in the class will get a special certificate. I hope it’s me! I will now ask Larny my sister if she wants to buy any of my chocolates.
See you soon!
About 10 minutes after and it is probably mid afternoon although I don’t think that word is real…
Glad to see you Diary,
Larny bought 20 chocolates!Wow!!!!!!That is a lot. I don’t know if she’ll be able to finish them all witho
Sorry diary. Mummy’s calling me to ask the neighbours if they want some.
I think it is about 4:30pm but who cares…
Dear Diary,
We went around the block and we sold at least 50 chocolates. I really hope I win. I think I’m in the lead! Tomorrow, (Monday) I will ask
Lily how much she has sold and I will tell her that I have…um…20 from Larny + 50 from the neighbours,… I must have sold 70 already! Ok, it’s nearly dinner time. How is it already nearly the evening? I’ll go have a bath and put on my pyjamas and then it’ll probably be about a quarter past five
and then we will have delicious pasta for dinner. So see you tomorrow after school and I’ll tell you how much Lily has sold.
Monday, after school…
Dear Diary,
Unfortunately, Lily wasn’t at school today because she is sick but luckily I have her phone number and once I got home I called her and very sadly, she said that she has already sold 95! How? I told her that I had only sold 70 but she said that it was fine because some people may have only
sold like 5. She said I was actually doing really well in that she’s probably in the lead because when she was 3 and 4 years old she learnt how to do many things like fundraising. And she said that if I don’t come 1st I’ll probably come 2nd or 3rd which those places also get special
certificates. So now I feel better after that chat with my BFF. Lily always makes me feel better when I’m sad. So that’s probably why she’s my best friend. Ok, I’ll go ask daddy if he wants to by some chocolates too.
About an hour later, after a lot of looking…
Dear diary,
I am DEVASTATED! So I was going to get the box of chocolates and ask daddy if he wanted to buy any but
when I was going to get the box it wasn’t there!!! And tomorrow Miss Smith our teacher is going to present the winner of the class and I’m probably going to come last!! Oh nooooo!!! Larny’s looking to see if she can find them but tomorrow I’m going to tell Miss Smith about what
happened, but still.
Larny’s just calling me over to her room so I can help her find it again but she’s saying that she also can’t find it.
Now, I’ve had my bath and it’s the evening so I’m going to have dinner.
Tuesday, after school…
Dear Diary,
Guess what? You know yesterday when I said that tomorrow Miss Smith will present the winner of the fundraising, my best friend, Lily won!
So, unfortunately I didn’t win, well I probably wouldn’t have won because I lost the box, but here comes the best part. Are you ready for it?
So, Miss Smith said: “the winner of 4T is Lily!” Oh, and in case you were wondering I’m in 4T. So back to the
fundraising, once Lily heard her name, she excitedly hopped up from her desk, shook Miss Smith’s hand, received her certificate, got given her badge, she put her badge on and smiled at the class with her certificate. This was all after I had told Miss Smith, so she said there was nobody who came
second, and that’s because
many people like 12 people all tied in second place so instead she decided to give me the second place certificate and badge because she trusted me that I probably sold a lot and she showed the prove to the class, I hadn’t lost the 70 dollars, it was just the box.
