This is the story of The ugly duckling...
In a sunny spot stood a pleasant old farm-house close by a deep river. In this snug retreat sat a duck on her nest, watching for her young brood to hatch; she was beginning to get tired of her task.
At length one shell cracked, and then another, and from each egg came a living creature that lifted its head and cried, “Peep, peep.” “Quack, quack,” said the mother.
Suddenly, the mother realized that one of her eggs did not hatch. “I hope he is alive,” said the mother. The mother held the egg in her hands and the duckling finally hatched. “Huu huu!” said the baby.

The mother duck was surprised by the appearance of her son. “Son, you are beautiful, your name will be Rocky,” said the mother.

At first, everyone criticized Rocky for being different, ugly, not knowing how to talk and walk.
The mother went out with her children to walk in the garden and introduce them to the other animals. "Quack, quack," said all the ducklings, except Rocky, who could only hoot.
The old duck looked at mother duck in surprise. “Are you sure it’s your son?” said the old duck. “He looks like an owl,” said the duck.
“Oh,” said the mother, “that is not an owl; how well he uses his legs, and how upright he holds himself! He is my own child, Quack, quack! come with me now, I will take you into grand society, and introduce you to the farmyard, but you must keep close to me or you may be trodden upon; and, above all, beware of the dog.”

When they reached the river, mother duck explained to her children how they should swim. Everyone was scared, except Rocky. “Quuck,” said Rocky. “You almost got quack quack, I’m proud,” said the mother.
Rocky was happy and tried to swim towards his mom. To everyone’s surprise, he could swim very well.
“That can’t be possible,” said the old duck. “Owls don’t know how to swim”. Mother duck yelled at the old duck to stop insulting her son. “Excuse me, Rocky, for doubting you,” said the old duck.
“Quuack quack,” said Rocky. The other animals watching applauded the duckling for swimming and talking.
