Prologue:
BOOM. KABOOM!!! "We're under attack!" Lady Abby exclaims.
Everything is wrong. We've lost many men and we are unsure if we can keep going.
"Never give up!" I then remember what Knight Alard told us. He's right. We need to keep pushing forward no matter what.
"Guys. We got this!" I say to Pope Caleb and Serf Shivani. "We just have to believe."
I hope for a good answer and they look at me like they are concerned. That's when Pope Caleb speaks up.
"Lead the way, Dame Julia."
Never give up!
A few hours earlier...
"Excellent work, Dame Julia!" My guide, Knight Alard informed me.
"Thank you, sir!" I replied back.
It was early in the morning and I was practicing my jousting and archery. Honestly, people thought that it was a nightmare getting up early and doing a lot of exercising, but honestly, it wasn't that bad once you got used to it.
"Well, we're done for now, knights and dames. You must go to the Big House now." Knight Alard informed us.
"What's the reason?" My friend, Knight Alfonso asked.
"Lady Abby has news for us and she said it was an emergency.
You guys aren't the only ones going there, you know. The whole manor population has been requested to visit." He exclaimed.
We barely get to visit Lady Abby, so when she calls, it must mean something really important.
"Do you know what the meeting is about?" I wondered.
"Sorry, Dame Julia, I have no clue, and Lady Abby said that she wouldn't tell until we all meet up together in the Big House. I'm sorry, but I would for sure tell you if I knew anything." My guide replied back, feeling bad.
Lady Abby was only my idol. She always knew what to say at the right time and ever since I had joined, I'd longed to meet her.
"Now, let's go to the Big House!"
Of course, everyone was so excited to go to a meeting involving Lady Abby and they started freaking out, but me, although she's my idol, I was just acting chill the whole time.
"Julia, how are you not excited to meet the lady?" Knight Alfonso asked me.
"I never said I wasn't. I'm just not making a huge deal about it." I replied back.
"Oh. Well, you better! You're visiting Lady Abby if I'm being clear to you. We get to talk to her and we also get to have a party! Woohoo!" Alfonso exclaimed, clearly not knowing what this meeting was about.
"Alfonso, not intentional to burst your bubble, but there's no time for acting like this is the best day of your life. If Lady Abby is holding up a meeting, it probably means we've dug ourselves in a hole or that we have disaster creeping up our sleeves." I replied.
"Wait, I don't have a bubble! Or do I? Neither have I dug myself into a hole. Also, how does disaster creep up your sleeves?" He asked.
I slapped my forehead. Sometimes, Knight Alfonso isn't able to make out that I'm being sarcastic.
"Hurry up, pupils! We don't have all day for rubbish to be lurking around!" Knight Alard yelled, only because we were
far from him.
"We're coming!" One of the knights replied as he hustled up the pace.
When we arrived at the Big House, there were so many people lined up I couldn't even count. Even the serfs and peasants were invited. If that was the case, there must've been a big emergency.
"Greetings, fellow citizens!" Lady Abby exclaimed. "I have a very important announcement to make!"
Lady Abby talked about how we all live in peace, but after she was done talking, her face filled up with horror as she then spoke.
"We are under attack," she finally declared.
The whole room gasped in shock and everyone started freaking out and running around across the room.
"Everyone stop panicking! Although we are being attacked, we will find a way to defeat the manor who is attacking our home, so I want you guys to come up with an idea that can actually work in this case." Lady Abby bellowed.
I raised my hand with an idea.
"Yes, my fellow dame?" She asked.
"We can try to surround the boundaries up with defense systems!"
"I like the idea, but all these defenses will make us lose
more than half of our weapons. We need to think of something bolder and more affordable. Anyone else?"
Pope Caleb then raised his hand with desperation.
"What have you got for us, Pope Caleb?" She asked.
"We must get all the help we can get, including from the peasants and the serfs. We all must fight, not just the knights and the dames." He proclaimed with confidence.
"I agree." I muttered.
Then, everyone started agreeing that was the best option left, but although they all agreed, Pope Caleb suddenly realized there was something wrong.
"Wait! We have an issue, Lady Abby!" He yelled.
"What's the problem, Pope Caleb?"
"We do not have enough weapons for everyone to fight! We don't stand a chance if we fight with our fists!" Pope Caleb blurted.
"Okay, does anyone have any ideas for this?" The Lady interrogated. No one raised their hand.
"Excuse me for a moment, then, fellow citizens, but I must go see the council to see what ideas they might have," Lady Abby stated.
Lady Abby returned to the meeting room a while later and had given what she'd called 'good news.'
"I have great news, everyone," she said, "We are offering serfs and peasants to help us with the current siege that is occurring in our land. If you would like to help us ."
"I would be honored to help, Lady Abby," a serf replied.
"And what is your name, fellow serf?"
"My name is Shivani. What can I do to help?" The serf had hollered.
"Well, Shivani, you can start training with the other knights and dames. We need the help." Lady Abby excitedly offered.
A few more serfs and peasants had decided to help out
joining the knights and dames, but out of all of them, Serf Shivani seemed like the one who wanted to help the most. If I had to be honest, I was actually excited working with her and the other serfs and peasants. Why? Because they get to experience new things and they don't have to be growing crops like they always do.
"Alright, knights and dames, I want you all at dawn to be preparing. We only have a few hours before we go to war and let us show the serfs and peasants how we work as a knight!" Knight Alard huffed in a very serious voice.
"Yes, sir!"
"Ooh, are we going to have a party after this!" Knight Alfonso
asked.
"Alfonso!" We all cried out.
"What? Can we?"
"Alfonso, if we win this war, we'll try to have a whale of a time, but we need to focus on the main point" I bellowed.
"Ugh, you guys are no fun!" Knight Alfonso asserted.
During practice, the serfs had been able to catch up with us easily and they even learned fast. I was actually proud of all of them.
"Are you knights, dames, serfs, peasants, and clergy men ready for battle?" Alard asked.
"Yes, ma'am!" Knight Alfonso replied.
