Dr. Bryan's Office

It is time for Luke to visit the doctor. Luke is
nervous about going to the doctor for the first time. "Mom, I
don't want to go," Luke cries. "I'm sorry, honey, but you have
to go," says Luke's mother.

"Dad, do I really have to go?" Luke asks. "Son, your
mother already told you that you are required
to attend your doctor's appointment," his father says.
"Fine!" Luke shouts. Then he runs off to his room.

"I really don't want to go. What can I do to get out of going?" Luke
thinks to himself. He then decides to go for a walk.

"I need to get going to the doctor off my mind.
Where should I go?" he thinks as he heads down the
path from his house.

He decides to go and visit his friend Caroline.
"Knock, Knock. Caroline, are you there?" he
calls. But Caroline isn't at home.

Luke decides to continue walking. "I wonder where Caroline is.
I should stop by on my way back home and ask her," he
thinks as he walks along.

As Luke continues walking, he runs into his friend, Tate. Tate is playing
"Robin Hood" with his brother. "Luke, what's wrong?" Tate asks. "I'm
scared to go to the doctor. Have you ever been?" Luke asks. "No, but my
older brother Bo has been before. He is over at the pond," Tate tells him.

"Bo, Luke is afraid to go to the doctor," Tate tells his brother. "I was
afraid the first time I went to the doctor too. I didn't know what to
expect, but it turns out it really wasn't too scary. The nurse and doctor
were both very nice, and the shots didn't even hurt that bad," Bo tells them.

As Luke heads back, he thinks about Bo's experience visiting
the doctor. "Shots? Shots! I didn't know there would
be shots!" he thinks to himself.

"I hope Caroline is home. I really need to
talk to her now," he thinks. "Knock, Knock.
Caroline, are you home?" he asks.

"Hey, Luke!" Caroline exclaims. "Caroline, do you want to go
for a walk?" Luke asks. "Okay!" Caroline replies.

"Is something wrong?" Caroline asks. "I'm nervous about going to
the doctor," Luke replies. "I just came from there! They gave me this
lollipop!" Caroline exclaims.

"Really? They did? Was it scary?" Luke asks. "Yeah.
They gave me this lollipop for being so brave. It wasn't
scary at all. They were all really nice," Caroline replies.

"Caroline, thank you for talking to me and telling me about your
doctor's appointment. I don't feel as scared anymore," Luke says.
"I'm glad I could help. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow,"
Caroline replies.
