Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Emma.
Emma was watching a children's show about play. She wanted to know what playing was. So her mother put her outside to play.
She played with bubbles.
She played in the sandbox.
She played on the swings.
She caught lightning bugs.
She played in the little pool. There were lots of toys that sank or that could float. The raft and tube were fun.
She played with the ball.
She played with the hose and sprinkler.
She picked flowers.
She rode her tricycle.
She learned to climb trees. There were inchworms dangling down from the branches too.
She watched wild animals in the trees, the grass, the water, and the forest.
She found other toys. She liked her watering can.
She had costumes to dress up in.
She would play in her favorite playhouse.
She would play with her hundreds of stuffed animals. The elephant that made squeaking sounds when squeezed made everyone laugh hard at her birthday party!
She played with her puppets in the puppet theater. Cookie monster was her favorite!
She would play school with her little sisters and make them peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. Her sisters said schoolwork is too hard.
She had her favorite baking recipe book for kids and made a strawberry banana shake.
Holidays were crafts like coloring easter eggs. On other holidays we baked chocolate chip cookies. We would go watch fireworks and have glowing toys to play with at night. Each holiday the table was full of gifts!
Coloring books were fun. Especially the giant ones!
My sister knew how to weave friendship bracelets. This is hard.
We had all kinds of boardgames we learned. Video games too.
There were lots of storybooks too read too.
She watched her cats during breakfast time play too. They would climb the trees and chase each other.
Her dad put a tire swing up and she would orbit in circles for hours.
One day Princess Fran heard about Emma's play life. A guard took her to see what she was doing.
She walked to the fence door that was opened and watched Emma running around laughing with her sister Kammy.
She was appalled at all the things she saw and what they were doing. And then she asked why she could not do the things they were doing.
The guard told Princess Fran that it was not appropriate and that her Father and Mother forbid such things.
One day the boys came by to make fun of Emma and her play life. They schemed up wicked plans to make fun of her.
Emma ignored them and went back inside to watch TV.
The next day Princess Fran went into her backyard because the family went on vacation.
The guard watched her and her Father was there with her. She started playing with the bubbles and went on the swing. She did not like the swing at all, but the bubbles she thought were astounding.
He sent a Prince to speak to her about the bubbles and he told her, "You are fathoming."
They left and went back to their home.
One day Princess Fran visited Emma and asked if she could play with her watering can. The Prince came and told her no.
