Shiny the beach ball gets left behind on the beach all alone. Will anyone find him? Will he ever be happy again? And most importantly, will he learn his lesson?

Once Upon a time , there was a beach ball named Shiny.

Well, not what you think. They weren't like the other kids on the beach. They played professionally.

Shiny told all the other beach balls that he was the best.

That he was the most shiny and blown up, and that he had the most skilled volleyball players.

The beach balls gathered around angrily.

One says, "Aren't we supposed to bring joy to the kids?"

"Yeah, it doesn't matter how good we are, Shiny," another said, "it matters that we make others happy and bring joy to their lives."

Shiny shook his head and said, "No! All that matters is how good I look and how good the people who play with me are."

After a few hours of playing, Shiny's people began to leave.

""Wait!" Shiny yelled. They had forgotten him. "Wait, wait, wait!"

Soon, it grew dark. Shiny waited...

And waited...

All night, Shiny sat on the beach, alone.

And then, morning arrived.

Shiny thought his people were going to come back to play with him, but he was wrong.

As people began to walk on the beach, Shiny realized he was a bit less blown up than the day before. He was a rain cloud about to burst sadness on everyone.

A huge family with lots of kids approached the beach. Shiny thought that maybe one of them would want to play with him, but no. 

Instead, they stepped on him, HARD. Shiny whimpered in pain as he felt sand cover him.

Just when things couldn't get worse, a big man set a beach chair RIGHT ON TOP of Shiny. It hurt even more then when the kid stepping on him had.

Shiny sat under the chair for a while. Then, a lifeguard picked up Shiny.
