Once upon a time, there was a cat named Coco.  She was very adventurous, and her soft fur was the color of dark chocolate.  She loved her bed and her toys, but most of all she loved exploring her new home and snuggling with her family!

Coco had a secret, though.  Every night, she would sneak out of the house and into the front yard.  As the moonlight shone onto her fur, she would transform into a huge, hairy beast known as the Were-cat!

Since Coco was usually able to change back by morning, the family never knew, so they just continued on with their everyday life.  Each morning, Coco would wake up, eat breakfast, take a nap, play with her toys, eat dinner, and go to bed.  And when night fell, she would tiptoe out the door and change into her true form.

I hope they don't check down there.  Then I'll be toast!

One rainy night, underneath a full moon, Coco snuck outside, just like usual.  Then she let herself transform, just like usual.  "I should probably change back now," she said to herself.  "Otherwise they'll know my secret!"  But when she tried, it wouldn't work!  She tried again and again, but she still remained a were-cat!  By around 5:30, she gave up and decided to go hide in the ravine.  "If they can't find me, they won't know that I'm a were-cat," she said.

*Licks lips*

As Coco climbed down into the ravine, she heard a rustling in the bushes.  Out came a coyote.  Coco may have been a huge, hairy beast, but this dog was gigantic!  "Hi," said Coco.  "My owners are back home, and I could really use a friend in these dark, lonely woods!"  "That's okay, I'll be your friend!" said the coyote. He smiled, not because he had a new friend, but because nature had brought him breakfast.
