Before we begin this story, we wanted to talk about leadership. If you didn't already know what the word, "Leadership" means, well it means to lead someone into a right direction and help them. Your teacher in your class is a leader because they lead you into learning. You can also be a leader whether it's for playing with other kids or helping someone who needs help. In this story, Polly the Snake is the leader because he stops the fight between Sean the Snake and Tilly the Turtle. To learn more about leadership, flip to the next page and enjoy our story that we created for you!

This is Polly the Parrot.

Polly the Parrot likes to sing. Especially to the other animals in Kottaville Pet Store. He is very friendly, kind, and energetic. Every day he sings his favorite song...
"My name is Polly the Parrot, the colors of my feathers are like a carrot, I like to sing every day, especially on my birthday."

One of Polly's favorite friends is, Harry the Hedgehog. He is pretty shy but is very nice.

Harry replies, "Oh boy, yes, it is!"
"Hey, Harry the Hedgehog, isn't it so great to be living in this bet store?" says Polly the Parrot.
Another animal in the pet store is Sean the Snake. He is considered to be a reptile. Tilly the Turtle is good friends with Sean. She is very caring.
"Sean you can't do that, it's not okay and besides, his singing is great." Tilly the Turtle replies.

"I really don't like Polly's s-s-s-s-sing all of the time. I wish I could just bite him." says Sean.
One thing about Sean the snake is, he doesn't like Polly's singing. Polly begins to sing again, and this makes Sean very upset. All the pet store could hear was, "My name is Polly the Parrot, the colors of my feathers are like a carrot, I like to sing every day, especially on my birthday."
"Why can't Polly stop singing????"

The Pet Store is now closed. Most of the pets in the pet store are asleep...except Sean. He is wide awake trying to figure out how he can escape his cage to get Polly. He thinks that biting Polly will solve the problem of his constant singing.
"There has to be a way out of here s-s-s-s!!!"

Suddenly Polly begins to sing...in his sleep! Sean can't control his anger now. There has to be a way out of his cage!!!!
"My name is Polly the Parrot, zzzzzzz, the colors of my feathers are like a carrot, zzzzzz, I like to sing every day, zzzzzz, especially on my birthday," sings sleepy Polly.

Sean finally looks up and sees an opening in his cage. He slithers out of his cage. The only problem that Sean has is that his cage is on the other side of the store than Polly's. Trying to be quiet, he wakes up Tilly the Turtle.

"I'm going to bite him." Sean whispers to himself.
