Music to My Ears

" I'm borded Dut-Dut, what should we do?"

"How about we try

something new?"

"Oh Yay! Sounds fun, what should we pick?"

"Oh, I've got it! We can make music!"

"Music?"

"Yeah!"

"But I don't know how"

" I'll teach you sis! Don't have a cow"

"No Rye-Rye, why do you think that we would?"

"We can use all kinds of things 

that we see every day.

Just follow me and listen to 

all that I say"

"Won't we need instruments, to make 

the music sound good?"

"For drumsticks, we have these toilet paper rolls."

"Or we can use Momma's spoons 

and bang on her bowls!

"We can wrap these 

rubber bands 

around the pan like so 

then pluck them with our fingers

and make the great music flow"

"That's it you've got it! 

Nice job Rye-Rye!

Lets gather more,

and give them all a good try!"

"Oh! How about this rice jar that rattles when it shakes?

Or this cool ticking clock, 

I love the sound that it makes?"

"Pots and pans and water glasses

make ting-ting-tings 

and splish-splish-splashes"

"Look I found bells that

ding-ding-dong!

They will fit just perfect

in our made-up song"

"Let's keep putting the noises together.

Because practice will help make our music sound better"

"I have an idea, what do you say,

we show Mom and Dad how fantastic we play"

"I love your idea, they would be so proud

To watch us play music in front of a crowd"

"We can invite my stuffed animals, they'd love it too!"

"I can't wait till you show them you learned something new!"

"Mom and Dad come and watch!" they both said with a shout

"Oh my goodness what is all this yelling about?"

"Come sit over here Mom, next to Rainbow Cupcake"

"We are going to show you the music we make"

"Plop on down Dad, so you can hear our song"

"Did I hear some hollering? What's going on"

"We've practiced all day and we're ready to go!

So sit back, just relax, and enjoy the show!"

All the while making booms and big bangs

They drummed and they strummed

They made some tings and tangs
