Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She grew up on a Christmas tree farm with her father, Steve, her mother, Alison, and her brother, Austin. 

When Taylor was thirteen, her family moved to Nashville, Tennessee to help her pursue her dreams of becoming a country music star.

She became a songwriter for RCA Records when she was 14 and by age 16, she was signed to Big Machine Records and started recording her first album. 

Taylor Swift currently has ten albums out and she has re-recorded four of them so far so she can own them herself. Her music goes through many different "eras" such as country, pop, and folklore. Here are the ten eras and albums Taylor has written so far...

Her first album, self-titled Debut, is a country album that came out in 2006 when she was 16. It went platinum in 2007 and she won Best New Artist at the Country Music Awards. 

Her second album, Fearless, was first released in 2008. She went on her first "main act" tour in 2009 and has since re-released this album in 2021. 

Her third album, Speak Now, was released in 2010 and re-released in 2023. This album is the first album that bridges the gap between country and pop music. She went on her Speak Now tour with Hot Chelle Rae.  

This was the first album she began to release songs about her previous relationships with celebrities. These people include Joe Jonas, John Mayer, and Taylor Lautner.

Her fourth album, Red, was released in 2012 and re-released in 2021. She continued to write about her relationships, specifically with Jake Gyllenhaal. 

Her Red tour occurred in 2013 and her opening act was Ed Sheeran. The lead single, "We Are Never Getting Back Together", earned her first number one hit on the Billboard 100. 

Her fifth album, 1989, is her first full pop album. It was released in 2014 and re-released in 2023. The album was inspired by songs in the calendar year and her relationship with pop star Harry Styles. 

She went on tour in 2015 with Shawn Mendes. This album jump started her career as a pop artist. 

Her sixth album, Reputation, was released in 2017. This album is all about her reputation crumbling after her feud with Kanye West resurfaced from years prior.
