This is Squishy! Squishy is a special type of fish.

He is a puffer fish!

This means he has spikes all over him and he is puffy!

Squishy's family is also puffy with spikes, like him! 

But, Squishy did not like looking like this.  

Squishy does not like the way he looks, because he looks different than the other fish at school.

Squishy's family always tries to make him feel better by talking to him. 

Squishy tells his parents about how at school, the other fish do not look like him and it makes him sad.

Squishy's parents tell him how it's okay to be different than everyone else.

They think it's good to be different, it makes Squishy unique. 

The other fish are not very nice to Squishy.

So, he is always alone at school.

Squishy especially does not like recess at school.  

He does not like recess because the other fish don't let him play with them.  

Squishy asks to play with the other fish. But, they always say no, they think since he has spikes he will ruin their game and pop the ball.

This makes Squishy feel sad, he wishes they would play a game that he could play with them. 

Instead, Squishy just plays by himself. 

Squishy always feels so lonely at school.

He just wishes the other fish would realize that even though he looks different than them, he could still be a good friend to them.

The school day was over, so it was time to take the bus home. Squishy was sad on the bus too, because he sat alone. 

But, Squishy was excited that it was finally time to go home from school.

Squishy did not want to spend time with his family since he was upset about the bad day at school.

He sat in his room alone, he felt like his parents would not understand why he was upset. 

Squishy thinks his parents won't understand because they always tell Squishy how it's good to be different. They also tell him that he is great, which Squishy does not agree with.
