A- Air is our friend! We breathe it in and out every day!
Today Air has invited us to come on an adventure to learn all about different kinds of weather!

B- Blizzards breeze through Air causing it to feel so very cold! They bring snow, ice, and low temperatures!
Blizzards can cause serious damage to an area. It can cause trees and other things to blow into your homes and can cause your power to go out!

C- Clouds are sometimes mistaken for Air, but they are actually very different from air!
Clouds are actually a form of water! Even though clouds are found in me...they are not air!

D- Dew is found early in the morning. It rests on grass, plants, and other objects outside. At night when the Air cools down dew is formed.
Fun Fact: Dew is most likely to form on clear calm nights!
E- Evaporation is kind of like backwards rain. Instead of coming down, the water goes up up up back into the air in the form of clouds!

The morning dew evaporates back into the sky when the sun comes out!

F- Fog is a form of water! It makes everything blurry and hard to see!
When it is really foggy outside it can make it dangerous to drive! Sometimes even headlights won't shine through extra thick fog!
G- Greenhouses are a great way to preserve plant life in any type of weather!

The air in a greenhouse stays at a constant warm temperature to allow for plants to grow even throughout winter!
H- Heat waves make the air HOT HOT HOT! Heat waves can make it dangerous to be outide for long periods of time!

Heat waves can be pretty dangerous! If you are out in them for too long without proper hydration it can cause damage to your body!
I- Ice storms come when the air gets COLD COLD COLD! When the air goes below freezing temperatures, then rain storms are turned into ice storms!

It is important to seek shelter during an Ice storm! I recommend making a nice cup of Hot Chocolate and hanging by the fire!
J- Jet streams are fast currents of air that flow from west to east and encircle the earth!

If jet streams suddenly stopped, then the whole pattern of climate across the earth would change! Even though we don't notice Jet Streams, we would notice if they went away!
K- Kelvin (AKA Kevlin Temperature Scale) is another unit used to measure temperature. In the US we use fahrenheit for our daily temperatures!

Fun Fact: 80 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to 299.817 degrees Kelvin!
L- Lightning fills the sky with streaks of yellow and white! It is caused by an imbalance between storm clouds and the ground!

Lightning can be VERY dangerous! It is important to always seek shelter when there is lightning detected in your area!
M- Mist makes the air moist. It is a very light rain that usually doesn't leave much standing water on the ground!

My most favorite part of Mist is when the sunlight hits it just right and it makes a rainbow!
N- Nimbus Clouds are big dark grey clouds that are full of rain! When you see these in the sky it is probable that it will rain soon if it isn't already.

These clouds are commonly known as "rain clouds!"
O- Overcast weather is defined a the sky being around 95% covered by clouds!

Overcast weather can sometimes be mistaken for incoming rain!
P- Precipitation is any form of water that falls from the clouds! This could be rain, snow, ice, sleet, etc.

A lot of people think that precipitation is just another word for rain, but really it is for ANY form of water falling from the clouds!
