Christmas is a time of joy and celebration especially in Georgia. Every 7th January, families gather together to celebrate the holiday season with traditional Georgian Christmas foods. Most of the families go to the church and attend Christmas service.
Another great tradition is “Alilo'' It is a parade in the streets and everybody collects some sweets and help poor people
Greece
May the 1st in Greece is called Protomagia. On Protomagia we celebrate the Labour Day, that is the achievements and accomplishments of workers worldwide.
Also, on this day, we celebrate spring, nature and flowers, the victory of summer against the winter that is fought throughout half of the year. This fest dates back to Ancient Greece, as the first of May, was also dedicated to the Greek goddess of agriculture; her coming to earth is the reason for the blossoming flowers and for the rebirth of summer.

On May Day, Greeks go for a walk in nature, pick up flowers to make handmade wreaths which are hung above the entrance of the houses to welcome nature and all the good things.

There's a traditional Polish birthday song called "Sto Lat," meaning "A Hundred Years," to wish the person a long and happy life. After singing, everyone usually toasts to the birthday person.

At 12.00, champagne and cake are served, the family members watch TV, there is a traditional "New Year's Eve 2024" concert.

On New Year's Eve, in the evening, the "masked" young people go in groups through the villages, wearing costumes of some characters - the bear, the goat, the goats, the deer, etc. - and go from gate to gate, at dawn. The Goat Walk usually lasts from Christmas to New Year.

Local holidays
This chapter is dedicated to celebrations that are celebrated locally, only in our area. These festivities are unique, showing what is important to a particular region.
Georgia
Khashuroba
My town's holiday is celebrated in October. We have a public parade, sell local foods, offer face painting, host sports competitions, invite people from different cities, and award honorable citizens for their recognition.
Greece
Οctober 28th is a very important day for Greece. At this day we celebrate the entry of Greece into the World War II. It is called the "OXI day", that means the answer "NO" given by the Greeks to the Nazis for surrender.

"OXI" Day (pronounced in Greek OCHI) commemorates the day when Greek Prime Minister Ioannis Metaxas defiantly refused an ultimatum handed to him in the early hours of the morning on October 28, 1940, by the Italian Ambassador in Athens, Emanuele Grazzi. The ultimatum required free and unimpeded passage for the Italian army across the Greek-Albanian border to occupy strategic areas of Greece in the war against the Allies, already in its second year (from September 1939). Refusal would be seen as an act of complicity with the enemy. The ultimatum had come from none other than Benito Mussolini himself, the Italian dictator in Rome and a staunch ally of Adolf Hitler. The Axis Powers of Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany were already at war with the Allies, including Great Britain and its Commonwealth,

‘Farewell to the siever.... what is called Mournful’
The celebration, which takes place in June every year, brings closer the ritual from the 19th century of bidding farewell to Biłgoraj's craftsmen - sievers, who with their wares, i.e. sieves, set off to trade in distant countries. Farewell to the sieve-makers was a special moment for the town's community, heralding a long absence of husbands, fathers and brothers.

On the last Sunday of August, our village of Harasiuki hosts a festival which showcases gifts from the surrounding forests, mainly mushrooms. Our area is famous for its plump mushrooms. On this day, delicacies with mushrooms in the lead role are presented.

"Powidlaki" is a festival celebrated in the neighbouring town of Krzeszow, usually starting with a jam parade. During this event, participants can see some product from plums and can taste them. There are also many stalls offering plum-based dishes, and during the event there are competitions for the best plum product, and for the youngest there are numerous games and amusement parks.

Spain
Peter de Regalado was born at Valladolid, Spain. His parents were of noble birth and conspicuous for their wealth and virtue. Having lost his father in his early youth, he was piously educated by his mother. At the age of ten years Peter begged to be admitted into the Conventual Franciscans, which favour was granted him three years later in the convent of his native town. In 1404, he became one of the first disciples of Pedro de Villacreces, who in 1397 had introduced into Spain the reform of the observance.

SAINT PEDRO REGALADO
In the newly founded convent at Aguilera, Peter found a life of solitude, prayer, and poverty. In 1415, he became superior of the convent at Aguilera and, on the death of Pedro de Villacreces (1422), the convent at Tribulos (del Abroyo). He effected many important reforms in the discipline of its Spanish monasteries. Peter observed nine Lents, fasting on bread and water, and was endowed with the gift of miracles and prophecy. In 1442, he was appointed head of all the Spanish Franciscans in his reform group. He was known for his charity to the poor.
His feast is celebrated 13 May, the day of the translation of his body. In art he is represented with flames bursting from his heart.

Republic of Moldova
The "National Wine Day" holiday was instituted by the decision of the Parliament of December 26, 1990 and has been celebrated annually since 2002 on the second Saturday and Sunday of October at the national level in the Capital of the country and on Sunday - in rational centers of the Republic of Moldova.

In the central square of Chisinau, a big celebration is organized: all the wineries organize wine tastings of their most special wines, various master classes and craft markets, traditional food, national music and folk dance are served. All these activities make you feel the festive atmosphere in the country.

Greece
17th November:
The Athens Polytechnic uprising
Every year on November 17 in Greece we celebrate the students’ uprising at the National Technical University of Athens.
The Athens Polytechnic uprising, as it is known, occurred on November 17, 1973, as a massive student demonstration of the popular rejection of the Greek military junta of 1967 to 1974.
The uprising which began on November 14, 1973, escalated to an open, anti-junta revolt and the main rallying cry was: Bread-Education-Liberty!
(Psomí-Paideía-Elefthería)

The students constructed a radio station (using laboratory equipment) and broadcast across Athens , inviting all Greeks to come to the Polytechneio and protest against the junta.
The radio station broadcast:
“Polytechneio here! Polytechneio here! This is the radio station of the free, fighting students, of the free, fighting Greeks!”
“We are unarmed!! We are unarmed!!
The Athens Polytechnic uprising ended in bloodshed in the early morning of November 17th after a series of events, starting with a tank crashing through the gates of the Polytechnic.
