What is each piece??

2 Most Important Algorithims
The 2 algorithims you will use the most throughout this book are the right and left algorithims. Also, if I say something does not matter, that means the color can be whatever on your cube!!

Right Algorithim

Turn the right layer up

Turn the top layer to the left

Turn the right layer down

Turn the top layer to the right
So, your cube will be scrambled from the start, and when you practice these, your cube should still be scrambled! Just practice these a few times until you've got it. You got this!!
Left Algorithim

Turn the left layer up
Turn the top layer to the right

Turn the left layer down

Turn the top layer to the left
Keep practicing that until you get it! Little tip-The left algorithim is the same as the right, but opposite!
Step 1-Daisy
For the daisy, your goal is to get all 4 white edge pieces around the yellow center. It should look like this.

There are no specific algorithims for this, but you want to get it like the picture, and the colors next to the white edges don't matter. Just try to move the layers and pieces around to get it to that. If you get one in the correct spot, but it is flipped, rotate your cube so the flipped piece is in the right layer, while the daisy is still at the top. Follow these steps. Move the right layer up. Move the top layer to the right. move the back layer to the left, or if you can't move the back layer to the left, just keep moving the back layer until the original white edge is back at the top.
Step 2-White Cross
You see how on the side of the white edges, there is another color? Well, you want to move that piece that is in the top layer, to the same color center piece. (the colors that aren't the edge or the center don't matter)

White Cross (continued)
Once you get to this point, make sure the daisy with the correct colors matching, is at the top. Then, turn the front face 2 times in either direction. Repeat this step until you have a cross with all white pieces. The pieces around the cross don't matter. It should look like this.

Step 3-White Corners
Turn your cube so the white cross you just made is at the bottom. After this step, you will have solved the first layer. What you will do is look for a corner piece that is in the top layer, and has white on it. When you find a piece in the top layer, turn it so it is in the correct spot. Look at the corner piece, you see how there are 3 colors? White, and 2 others? That corner piece should be in between the 2 centers with those same colors. Then do the right algorithim until the piece is oriented correctly in the correct spot. If the corner piece is not in the top layer, do the right algorithim once and then repeat the step above. The whole time your white cross should be at the bottom. On the next page is the picture of the first layer of the rubik's cube solved. This includes the corners in the correct spot. This picture shows the white on top, but in real life the white should be at the bottom. Hopefully you are doing well!!!

Step 4-Second Layer
After this step, you will have solved the first 2 layers of the rubik's cube. Find an edge piece in the top layer WITHOUT yellow on it. Move it so the color on the front matches the center. Look at the color on the top of the edge piece you moved to the matching center, and move the piece away from that color. If the color you moved the piece away from was on the right, do the right algorithim. If it is on the left, do the left algorithim. If you did the right algorithim, rotate the whole cube to the left If you did the left algorithim, rotate the whole cube to the right. Depending on the algorithim you did originally, do the other one. Repeat that step until the second layer is solved. This next part works for a flipped piece, or a piece in the wrong spot. Just do the step above, but replace it with a piece with yellow on it. Then you can put the piece you just took out, back in the right spot! The next page shows the second layer completeley solved! Keep going! You are halfway there!!

Step 5-Yellow Cross
The next 3 pages will have the 1 of the situations you might have. Find which one you have, and read through this. Make sure you have solved all the second layer before you start.
