Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Lena. Lena's favorite color was purple. Almost everything she owned was purple. Her shoes were purple, her clothes were purple, her toys were purple, and even her room was purple. Lena loved anything purple.
Lena also had a favorite snack, popcorn. She would eat popcorn every day.

"Yum! That was another delicious bag of popcorn!"

Lena was in the first grade. Her class was going on a field trip to their local park. They were going on a nature walk to look for bugs. In science class, they had been learning about different types of bugs.
Lena and her classmates were determined to identify as many bugs as they could find on this nature walk.

"I hope I see a ladybug!"
"I want to find a worm!"
Lena and her classmates finally arrived at the park and started their walk on the nature trail.
All the students began to find different types of bugs that they had been learning about in science class. There was a centipede, a ladybug, a bee, a spider, a grasshopper, a worm, an ant, and even a butterfly.

"Look over there at the butterfly!"
"Wow, that spider is so big!"
Along the nature walk, Lena found herself wandering off onto another trail. She knew she was gone from where the rest of the class was, but Lena had spotted a purple butterfly and wanted to follow it to see where it would go.

"Where are you from little butterfly?"

When the butterfly flew far away from Lena, she was alone on the trail. Her classmates were nowhere to be found. Lena looked all around her.
However, when Lena looked up, she spotted a purple kite stuck in a tree.

"Oh my goodness, a kite. It is my favorite color! I have never had a kite before! "

Lena wanted that kite. She jumped super high to get it down from the tree. Once Lena got it down, she jumped with joy! Lena admired the kite and played with it. Lena was happy.
After playing with the kite, another little girl from Lena's class found Lena and the kite.

"Wow this thing really is the best!"

"Hey, that is my kite! Give it back to me!" said Lena's classmate Alyssa. Lena did not know what to do. She wanted the kite all for herself and would do anything to keep it. "No!" said Lena, "It's mine! I brought it on this field trip! You can't have it!"
Suddenly, their teacher, Mrs. Goodwin, found the two girls fighting and was very concerned.

"Girls! What are you doing out here, and why are you fighting?"

Both Lena and Alyssa proclaimed to Mrs. Goodwin that the kite was theirs. Mrs. Goodwin had heard enough and took the kite. "If you two girls cannot tell the truth about who the kite belongs to, then I will have to hold onto it until the truth comes out," said Mrs. Goodwin.
They all returned to the group, finished the nature walk, got on the bus, and returned to school. Both girls were sad, but Lena got this funny feeling in her stomach.

"Mrs. Goodwin, it's my kite!"
"No, it's not, it's my kite!"

Later, when Lena returned home after school, she went straight to her purple room. She still had the funny feeling in her stomach. Lena did not want to come downstairs to eat dinner. Lena didn't even want to eat popcorn, her favorite snack. She did not know why she felt this way.

"I do not like this feeling."
