Hello, I'm David. I'll be visiting our schools and trying to provide information about our individuals with disabilities.

Here, I will first talk about the symbols of individuals with walking disabilities.
First, we came to visit Çarşamba Science High School.



Universal disabled symbol. The universal symbol of accessibility, this symbol indicates access for individuals with limited mobility, including wheelchair users.




Wheelchair access symbol. This symbol is for people who require wheelchair accessible facilities/need to have level access as they are unable to do even a small number of steps.

Now I will tell you about the symbols of visually impaired individuals.





White cane symbol. A white cane identifies a person as blind or visually impaired. When you see a person holding a cane or the original white cane, you realize that that person has some visual impairment.




Assistance dog symbol. The assistance dog symbol is a symbol that shows that the dog has been trained to support you at events and venues/other unusual environments/situations and that it will assist you.

It is used for people who find access to visual information a barrier. May include visually impaired people needing alternative formats/guidance.



This symbol indicates the location of phones with amplified sound and/or handsets with adjustable volume controls.



Aynur TATAROĞLU
Now we are at Nur-Hayati Kurtcan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School
Disability symbols;
It is widely used to indicate areas reserved for disabled people in various facilities and amenities such as elevators, parking lots and sinks.




Standing/Queuing Symbol
This symbol is awarded to people who have a significant disability in accessing services while standing and/or queuing. This may include people who are physically unable to stand/queue for a significant period of time or have trouble understanding the concept of queuing.

Live Voice Description Symbol
Live audio description for people who are blind or have low vision. The service makes performing and visual arts more accessible.

Today we are at Yusuf Kalkavan Anatolian High School.
Accessible restroom: This indicates that the venue has an accessible restroom. These restrooms are designed with the necessary space for wheelchair access and other criteria in mind.




Disabled parking: Indicates that there are designated areas in the open or closed parking lot of the venue for disabled people to park their vehicles.

Now I'm at Havva Aslanoba Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The school is located in Bursa.

This symbol indicates that a television program or videotape is subtitled for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Today we are in Ukraine. "We are at Kurakhove Vocational High School."

This sign is used for live audio description for people who are blind or have low vision. The service makes the performing and visual arts more accessible.
This Symbol indicates that Sign Language Interpretation is provided.

Every person — with or without disabilities — is unique. Embracing others’ differences is an essential life skill. Even if we aren’t interacting with a special needs child daily, we should interact with a variety of playmates. We must try to engage with others who are different from us. We should try to understand and support our classmates with special needs.
