The sun shines brightly into Casey, Callie, and Clara’s eyes. They are three adoptive sisters, their mom and dad are very poor, so the government give them money if they help to do chores in others’ house.

the three sisters were in another person’s garden mowing the lawn, watering the plants, and repainting the bench when Dad walked into the garden covering in dirt.

“Dad, we are done with our chores,” Casey, the oldest said. “Good, the government will give us five dollars,” “But we spent the whole afternoon doing this!” Callie complained.

“It’s not fair,” Clara, the smallest sister stated when the girls got back into their room. “But that’s the only money Mom and Dad have got,”Casey explained.

The next day at dawn, Casey woke up Callie and Clara. They ate a quick breakfast of bread and bacon, then, they discussed about their family’s low money.

“I think we need to sell something,” said Casey. “Yeah, we need more money so we can buy a new house,” Clara said. So they decided to do their chores first, today, Casey and Clara will be going in town to buy food…

While Callie is sweeping the floors. After all their hard work, Mom and Dad woke up. “Good morning, sweethearts. Oh!” Mom said. “You did all our chores before we woke up?!” Dad asked, surprised.

“Daddy, what if we do chores more than we did before, can the government give us more money?” Clara asked. “Maybe,” Dad answered. so they did chores everyday like this, after a while they had enough money to buy some cheap things.

Since it’s already autumn, the sisters decided to sell some hot chocolate. “The things we need is milk, cocoa powder, cups, and chocolate syrup,” Casey said. “I think it’s is going to be as easy as pie!” Callie said.

They made five cups of hot chocolate, first, they tasted it themselves. “It is AWESOME!!!” Clara exclaimed. Casey and Callie agreed. Then, they gave it to their Mom and Dad to drink. “Good job!” Mom said.
