The Great Sea Adventure
By: Michael Mallare
The boat came to a sudden stop when we
threw down the anchor. I went SMACK! I hit
the seat. I am Mikey a scuba-diver. I am
going scuba-diving with my friend Bob. Our
job is to find another species. To help us on
the way I brought a scientist named Dexter,
who stayed on the boat. It is a nice, warm,
amazing day, but I have to go into the deep,
dark ocean.

Bob and I are getting ready to dive into the ocean. The
ocean is split up into four zones. The intertidal, pelagic,
abyssal, and benthic. ”Are you ready Bob?” I asked. He
put his thumbs up. So we dived into the water into the
intertidal zone. As we started to get deeper it started to
get colder. It is really, really, really cold down here, I
think I might freeze to death. As we got deeper we saw
sharks, fish, dolphins, and floating seaweed. We put our
headlights on. After a while our headlights lost battery
and we came face to face with a… a…a…a… SHARK! He
looked mean and ferocious. I budged Bob to get his
attention. Luckily we got away safely now we are lost in
the deep, dark ocean.

It is cold, dark, and scary without the lights. We saw
some sea shells pass by us. That reminded me of a
tongue twister; “she sells sea shells by the sea shore,”
and that warmed me up. We swam deeper just for our
mission. Bob and I just remembered we have
communication with Dexter. He told us to go on with our
mission. For some amazing reason the lights turned back
on automatically. “Where are we?” I asked Bob. He
didn’t answer as the water whistled gently. We turned
around and saw a big scary shark. A couple minutes later
the lights turned off again. After awhile we found out this
shark was nice and his name was Mr. Megladon. He told
bob and I that he is part of a species, who was thought
to be extinct. Mr. Megladon protected us ‘till the next
day.
