CHAPTER 1 - Getting Started

Hoplite is a battle royal game where you can play team or solo. The goal of the game is to be the last team or player alive. You should play Hoplite if you really like PvP, trapping, etc or if you just want to. All you need is a computer that has Java Edition Minecraft and a Microsoft account. To join Hoplite go to Multiplayer, then add new server and type in the ip, hoplite.gg.

Tactics

Diamond mining:

Diamond mining is when you spend the entire game mining for diamonds, including PvP time. When it hits deathmatch, you will probably have full diamond armor with protection 2, so you can take a lot of hits even if you don't have healing.

OP bow: 

OP bowing is when you have a bow with good enchantments. One of the easiest ways to get this bow

is to find a village and use the librarians to get flame and power books. This is good because you can't get a shield in Hoplite so it is really hard to block arrows

Nether Rushing: 

For nether rushing all you need is a few blocks, a water bucket, and a lava pool to make a speed runner portal. If you don't know how to make a speed runner portal, you can look it up on Youtube. In Hoplite, you want to find a bastion which contains gold that you can use to make golden apples for healing. 

Enchantment Table Rushing:

To get an enchantment table, you will need to get 2 diamonds, four obsidian, and a book. To get the diamonds you just need good luck, and for the obsidian you need a infinite water source 2 buckets and a lava pool to craft it in hoplite. 

Pick-Up-Fighting:

Pick up fighting is when you wait for someone to finish a fight and then you go in to finish them off. To Pick up fight, you definitely want to use cobwebs to trap people so they can't run. Try to get them with a lava bucket as well because it will set them on fire and they might die from it. Pick up fighting is a good tactic since you can get a lot of fast and easy loot, but not take much damage while getting it.

Getting Started

Go to multi player and click add server. In the Server Name, type in Hoplite and in the server address type in Hoplite.gg (capitals required). Then hit done, join the server, and you're to play.

Before playing, hit the green arrow to choose between Civ or Solo. I recommend Civ because more experienced players play Solos. Also, in Civ you have teammates to depend on. Solos is where you are all alone and is much harder because you cant gang up on people or single someone out. Civ is easer because you can separate an enemy team and then single out one or two players. Furthermore, if you don't have very good gear, your teammates can share.

After picking gameplay, it's time to pick a classes/kits. You have 5 kits to choose from. A description appears when you hover over them. 

What are kits and classes? 

Kits are mods that will help you get started when you drop in the world. The Hoplite kits are Miner, Warrior, Archer, Looter, and Trapper.  Each kit gives you class tools and extra resources specific to your class. You also have an increased chance on random drops. For example, if you're a miner you get increased ore drops. 

Miner:

I recommend this kit if you want to cave rush a lot faster because you only need 3 blocks of wood rather than 7. Then you can cave rush faster since you will probably be doing it half the game anyways.

Warrior:

I recommend this kit if you are an aggressive player looking to kill for loot not grind. When you get a kill, you get regeneration II for five seconds and a 10% percent chance of getting a permanent heart which helps you get more kills because you have more health than other people.

Archer:

I recommend this kit if you are going to go for the Artemis Bow a Legendary Weapon. It gives you the feathers you need to make the Artemis Bow and you have a 15% chance to get regeneration effect if you hit someone with any bow.

Looter:

I recommend this kit if you are going to fish for the Pufferfish Canon a Legendary Weapon. It allows you to poison your opponents, which is one of the deadliest ways to kill someone early game.

Trapper:

I recommend this kit if you are going to trap players.

It is also a good class because it allows you to cave rush faster than other players since you start with 16 logs of wood.
