Chapter 1: Leni Perez: The Scaredy-Cat

It was a normal day for kids like you but for Leni, it’s not. Her full name is Linda Emerald Perez but she is called Leni. Leni keeps a sketchbook and in it is all her fears, likes and personal info. Her highest fear is the dark and death.She is afraid that if she loses it, she might get amnesia. Christian or Kale is the school bully. Leni wants to be friends with him but she fears that she might end up bullied or killed. But she fears this fear that she can’t handle.

But Leni can’t help but say to her friends that if she killed Christian, she might get killed. After all, she is afraid of death. Or she feared that he will lock her in a dark room. She fears this situation too. But things were about to take a turn for the worst. After school, Leni keeps drawing in her sketchbook about her new fears when suddenly Kale approaches her and took her sketchbook and read it. But when he saw in the page that he was doodled dead, he got angry. He ripped off that particular part of the book and threw the page in the trash can. Leni then rushed home.

When she got there, she also fears that someone will rob the whole house and kidnaps her parents but she feels regretting and wondering why she fears this situation though. Her mom, Glen, gave her waffles with peanut butter and maple syrup for a snack. Her dad, Orion, just came home from work and gave her 10 dollars for pocket money in the school. Then they ate dinner. When it was time to sleep, Leni plugged in all her nightlights and she went to sleep. But then lightning struck and all her lights went out. Leni tried to calm down but she can’t. She cried and wanted to see her parents.

Chapter 2: Meeting the Dark

Leni can’t help but say: “Why do you exist, Dark?! I can’t help but wonder why you are here in this world! I don’t like it one bit!!” Just then, she saw someone in black and aimed the flashlight at her, but she disappeared! She thought it was no one. Then she appeared again. She was angry at first but after a chat with her, she’s happy. She is actually the Dark and she invites her to overcome every one of her fears.

Leni wasn’t sure about this but after a few moments, she agreed and they flew up to the sky. Dark made the city look beautiful, abstract and vibrant. Leni enjoyed the view for now. Suddenly the Dark flew through fireworks. Leni was so scared, she covered her eyes. The Dark tried to let her open it but she doesn’t want to open her eyes. The Dark tried opening them anyway. Since Leni is leaning in the edge, she fell off her back but she landed safely in the forest. The Dark and Leni then went to a store with other persons who are Dark’s friends.

Chapter 3: Dark’s Friends, The Night Entities

Dark has five friends who are the Night Entities. They are Sleep, Quiet, Sweet Dreams, Insomania and Unexplained Noises. But when they saw Leni, they were surprised to see Leni who’s afraid of everything.

Leni wants to see how they do their jobs, but they fear that she will mess it all up. She insisted and finally they agreed then they all flew to the city. Sleep's job is to make everyone sleep using a special dust and some other materials including a toy hammer. When Leni saw this, she wants to stop her but she then remembered the promise that she made so she stood still then they flew to the next night entity.

The next entity is Insomania. Her job is to wake people up who has fallen asleep in their workplace or couch or somewhere in a public vehicle. Leni really didn't want to wake them up but she then watched how she does it and she then got interested on the next night entity who has a weird job as Leni says so.
