The stories in this book were written by our students in order to contribute to the environment by carrying out a common work. One step that everyone takes will provide us with a better world.

TÜPRAŞ MAHMUT ESAT BOZKURT SECONDARY SCHOOL
Eco, the hero of our story, is a loving person who loves not only people but all living creatures, especially stray cats. Every day he feeds the cats in his neighbourhood.Lola is his favourite among these cats.Lola is a very naughty but very sweet cat.
One day Eco saw Lola on the way home from school.Lola was dirty among the garbage and had glass stuck in her paws. Eco immediately took Lola to the vet on the corner of the road. Eco told his friends what had happened and decided to do something to prevent environmental pollution with his friends.They met at the library at the weekend and planned what they would do. First of all, they started by giving a name to their team. They named
their team "Environmental Saplings". They opened a website with the same name as their team. They would share every project they did on this site. Afterwards, they prepared an informative poster to protect both animals and the environment. On this poster, they wrote that we should throw our wastes into the recycling bin and separate the garbage, minimise the consumption of plastic and reduce the use of detergents and perfumes. They hung these posters in their neighbourhoods and shared them on their websites. After 2 days, the Environmental Saplings went to the neighbourhood headmen and told them about their project. Afterwards, they asked the headman to put more recycling bins on
the streets and avenues, to share their posters on the internet and to put huts for our little friends on the streets. The neighbourhood headmen did not break them and fulfilled their requests.

ECO'S DREAM
Eco was one of the sweetest mushrooms in the city called Green trees. He got his name because he was ecologically aware. Everyone was jealous of him. He had super powers: he could turn any villain into leaves and trees.
But there was only one villain he couldn't defeat, his name was Vort. He had the strongest powers in the world and no one could defeat him. Only Eco could defeat him but he didn't know that.
Vort had the power to control people. Vort liked to control children to be rude and to steal. And that was the biggest problem in the world.
Eco kept thinking how to defeat him.
Until one day he found the will of his grandfather Eli. In the will it was written that he must go to the wisest person in this world, her name was Uyulala.
He walked for a long time to find her. He went over a Sad mountain where he had to fight against his sadness, then over a Grassy sea where he had to fight against his angers and fears, in the end he had to go through Timecity where he fought against his past.
After all those long adventures he reached the boundless land of Terraria where Uyulala lived. Before entering the star of Uyulala, he had to solve the riddle of nature.
When Eco entered the puzzle, the door of the great Uyulala opened automatically. He was very confused because the door opened for him immediately.
The door opened because he already had the puzzle solved inside him. Then he saw the most powerful Uyulala for the first time.
She said one single word to him, that was "child". Eco was confused.
He returned home and thought for a long time.
After some time, he went to Timecity, where he became a child again.
Vort saw it and tried to control him, but it didn't work. Vort has spent so much of his strength trying to control Eco and he was exhausted. He lost all of his power and he died.
When Eco was a child he had unimaginably strong powers and that is what killed Vort.
"What a strange dream!", thought Eco when he woke up.
Than he smiled happily talking to himself:
"Children are really powerful little creatures.
They can save the world!"

Environmental Sablings decided to expand their project further with the support of the neighborhood headmen. As a next step, they started organizing educational seminars to raise recycling awareness in their neighborhoods. In these seminars, information was given about the importance of recycling, correct waste management and environmentally friendly habits. Neighborhood residents showed great interest in the seminars and their level of awareness gradually increased.
Their next project was to improve the welfare of stray animals. Environmental Sablings started a campaign to provide food and water bowls, shelters and medical care for stray dogs and cats in their neighborhood. Neighborhood residents also supported this campaign and together they improved the living conditions of many stray animals.
Environmental Sablings's work has begun to make a difference not only in their neighborhoods but also in their surroundings. The group started to attract interest from other neighborhoods
and decided to spread their sample projects to other regions. Thus, they began to make a greater impact, not only in their own neighborhoods, but also by covering a wide area.
With their loving and environmentally sensitive approach, X and his friends set an example for improving the quality of life of people and other living creatures. This story, which shows that everyone can make big changes with a little effort, became a source of hope and inspiration.

The city headman accepted Eco´s proposal although they had received an email in which they could see the distribution of the city's containers.
There, it was clear that the recycling containers had only been distributed in the areas surrounding the Town Hall. There it was when the representatives accepted their ruling since the budget did not adjust to the real needs of the city. For that reason Eco suggested collecting phones with the aim of achieving a more ecological and sustainable city for all its inhabitants.
Eco had suffered bullying at school. Something he was having a hard time getting over. This was the reason why he decided to do something that would comfort him and help him overcome his situation..
for this reason, he shared his idea of distributing recycling containers and posters that say: be kind, be tolerant,embrace diversity throughout the city, in order to raise awareness among everyone of the fact that we only have one mother Earth and we must take care of her and above we all must take care of our enviroment. This was a disaster, since Eco did not get everyone to support him. Some people began to make fun of him and not respect his ideas. Eco did not give up.
He found the support of his best friends,so with the help of some adults they started up an open air market with the aim of raising funds. To do this, they looked for recycled materials so they could create sales stalls.
They also asked all the residents to donate things such us: food, goodies, toys, accessories, books, board games, necklaces, recycled soaps, cloth bags, second-hand clothes, etc.
They also decided to have the collaboration of a special education children's center called WINGS TO FLY. They made crafts and works of art that they donate to their open air market.
ZÜBEYDE HANIM EDUCATION INSTUTIONS
Eco was living in a village near a river. The villagers were earning their lifes from agriculture and fishing. The day Eco and her/his friends went to a picnic near the river and just then they realised a pile of dead fishes on the river, floating garbages.The river was very polluted, chemicals shining unusually on the river. Eco and his/her friends decided to find out and explore more about the source of this pollution. They followed the path through the river bank. They noticed a big factory on the opposite side of the river.
All of this pollutions was caused by the factory. Also they noticed that fumes were coming out from the chimney of the factory.
It is quite clear that the cause of agricultural troubles and the lack of wheat were also caused by this place. They discussed and decided to head to the headman.
The headman listened to them carefully and he agreed with them. They applied to the government for the right treatment and at last they succeeded on their attempt. The goverment made the factory filter its building. In the following period, the river was clearer and crops were more qualified. Eco, his/her friends and the villagers were happier.

Nothing was going normailly in that beautiful town of Greenvalley .The sky was pitch black.There were cigarette butts ,nut shells, chip bags and a lot of nylon bags on the streets.
In this town there was someone who could save the people and the environment from this situation.His name was 'ECO'..Using his ultra powers,he took over this work with his wonderful projects.He invited everyone around him into this project.
He achieved his first project.Its name was 'Waste recycling and Transformation Art Exhibition.'In this project students were allowed to understand how they could transform waste materials and the importance of recycling.They shared these works of art with other people by displaying them in exhibition.
Eco and his friends achieved another project named'Clean up Campaign' Eco and his friends organized a cleanup campaign around the school and at a local park nearby.Within the scope of this project students started to learn about waste collection,recycling and general enviromental cleaning.In addition,Eco ran awareness by this campaign.By this project,the students in this town tried to gain practical experience in the protection of natural life and the sustanıbility of local ecosystem.

Eco and his friends loved nature. They always wanted to do more projects to protect the environment. Therefore they often got together with their group "Environmental Saplings" and thought of new plans. They regularly held meetings to brainstorm on ideas to inform more people about pollution, recycling, reducing waste etc. In one meeting Eco said "As you know, we already hung posters, organized seminars and started a campaign to provide for stray animals, stopped the pollution caused by a factory near the river. We do great jobs together. We should use our website and internet to inform more people because the world is digital now. We should take advantage of it."
Everyone agreed and they decided to prepare a video in which they talk about environmental pollution, recycling, reducing waste. This video reached a large audience via their website and social media. Watching these videos, schools decided to do environmental projects. Children from all over the world would unite and do projects together. In the projects, they created posters, wrote books about environment and always communicated with each other thanks to the internet and computers. The children, who were constantly doing projects, were so happy at the same time. They had a great time all together.
After these projects, children received environmental awards. The children managed to show exemplary behavior to humanity and made everyone proud. They had a great impact on protecting the environment. Thanks to these children and projects, more people became sensitive about protecting the environment.

One day, our lovely hero, Eco, went to the local supermarket to buy some fruit. While he was choosing some apples and putting them carefully into his cloth bag, he noticed that other people were carrying a lot of plastic bags. They were putting different kinds of fruit into different plastic bags. While he was waiting in the line to pay, he saw that people were putting their plastic bags into bigger plastic bags before they leave the supermarket. He got so sad and desperate because he knew that plastic bags dicompose in nature in almost 1000 years and when plastic bags begin to deteriorate in nature, they spread harmful chemicals into the environment and slowly pollute our food chain.Also, they pollute seas, lakes and rivers. Sea animals like fish, crabs, turtles eat them and die.
Because nylon bags are transparent, they absorb heat and this causes forest fires. 90% of garbage consists of nylon and plastic waste. Eco thought about all these bad effects of the plastic bags and he decided to do something to decrease the usage of them and protect the nature. He held a meeting with his team “Environmental Saplings” and talked about the harms of using plastic bags. They decided to sew cloth bags for themselves and family members. Moreover they made a video telling the harms of plastic bags and showing how to sew a cloth bag. They shared their video using social networking sites. One week later Eco went to the same supermarket to buy some groceries. He saw that most people were carrying cloth bags. He got so happy and felt so hopeful for the future.

On a quiet evening Eco and his /her grandpa was talking about camping. His/her grandpa said that he knows a place where they can camp. ‘’ When I was a younger I used to camp with my friends.’’ They decided to go there and camp together. They packed their luggage hop into his/her grandpa’s car. They arrived at the mentioned place after a long journey.
Eco and his/her grandpa were disappointed when they arrived to find clear-cut trees , smelly garbage, and a dirty lake. The clean, fresh air and dazzling lake were gone. Grandpa looked around with great astonishment and sadness. They decided to clean the lake and its surroundings without wasting any time. In this way, they would partially preseve the habitat and be able to set up their camp without any problems.

Firstly, they wore their gloves and then they collected as much garbege as they could especially sharp objects like glass ,bottle etc. While singing a pleasant melody, Eco was also gathering the garbage. After collecting all the garbage they could, they decided to sort it and seperated into categories for recycling. Then they loaded the collected garbage into the vehicle.
Before leaving the camping area, they made a signboard with the wooden pieces they had collected from the surroundings and wrote something on it. Next, they took the sorted garbage to the nearest recycling center. Finally, Eco called the headman and requested for the signboard they made to remain there. ‘’ … and what was written on the signboard was this.’’

One day, Eco and his friends went to school. While they were talking about the dirty environment, they saw the neighborhood cat Mia among the garbage. They got upset about this situation and saved Mia. When they all returned home, they told their families about this situation, and their families said that they could clean the environment. On their way to school, they were slowly tidying up and announced that he was going to give a speech to the school. When everyone gathered, the director announced that he would organize a project competition on environmental pollution. This project made Eco and his friends even happier. Thanks to this project, the environment will be cleaner. Eco returned home very happy after school.
He explained this situation well to his family. They were also very happy. Even though Mia couldn't talk because she was a cat, Eco understood that she was very happy about this. As a result, hundreds of cats like Mia would now live happily. In the evening, Eco and his friends came together. They would make plans for the project. Eco came up with a useful idea. The idea was to put recycling bins in every neighborhood. So instead of throwing them on the ground, people would separate them and throw them into these boxes. Eco's friends approved the idea.
It was time to do this work. They all asked for help from the neighborhood residents. They researched online and exhibited what they created in the Zoom meeting, and with the help of everyone, 3 recycling bins were placed in each neighborhood. They painted the recycling bins beautifully and wrote "help animals, don't litter". They observed for a week, and people gradually began to improve and sort their garbage. Now everything was clean, Eko and his friends were not satisfied with that, they built more than one house for the animals, they left a water and food container next to each house, and they put water and food there with the neighborhood people. containers.
There were no more stray animals in the neighborhood. The neighborhood headman was very pleased with this project. and rewarded Eco and his friends. Eco and his friends were proud of themselves.
