I dedicate this book to my parents, who always help me and encourage me to write more and better stories.

“ Ellie, come in here and help unpack!” Summer called from the bunk bed. The Jones family had reached their camping site for the week. They heard about this site a few weeks ago, and were planning to camp there. This camping spot was in a bright rainforest, with sun seeping through the thick canopy, lighting up the mossy floor. Summer was already in the cabin because she wanted the top bunk.

Her parents and sister, Ellie, came in right after. They all settled in and started chatting. " This is so cool!" exclaimed Ellie. " I know, but where are we going to keep our bags?" " On the table maybe?" Mom replied. “ Don’t worry about that right now, just have fun!” Dad chuckled.

After dinner, the two sisters went out for a walk in the dark. Ellie took out her special jar. She always would collect leaves from different places, and experiment with them later. The two girls started to walk in the dark. “ Summer, wait! I found some glowing leaves!” Ellie pulled on her gloves and scooped up the leaves and carefully dropped them in the jar. She peeled off a label and jotted down, ‘ Glowing Leaves’. Then Ellie stuck it on the jar. “ Done!” Ellie said to Summer as she put the jar in her bag. The two continued their walk happily.

" Look at these!" Summer pointed to a swarm of fireflies circling around a tree.
Summer excitedly pulled out a camera she got. As she walked, she clicked photos of fireflies and mushrooms. The two curious sisters enjoyed exploring the forest’s inhabitants. Summer and Ellie also found a lot of anthills. There were many ants collaborating to carry food to their homes. Happily, they skipped back to the cabin because it was now late.

“ Ahhh, that was a fun walk, and I got good pics!” “ I know right? I got some cool plants too!” Ellie exclaimed. After getting ready for bed, Ellie and Summer went to sleep in their bunk bed. Not long after, the girls were deep asleep.

" Good morning, guys!" Summer said as she skipped into the dining room. " Good morning!" her parents replied in unison. " Hi, Ellie!" Summer greeted as her sister walked in. " Good morning," Ellie replied, yawning. Their mom had made some fluffy blueberry pancakes.
The plate of hot, buttery pancakes was greeted by lots of compliments. The family dug in.
