There were a crew of NASA. They had an ordinary life like traveling around some planets and collecting some information from them. One day they went to another planet named "Mars" and instantly a huge sandstorm have appeared and threw one of the members in the crew with its strong visual. His name was Mark Watney and they had no time to save him and thought he probably dead. One of the crew members said, "Instead of looking, saving our life is more locigal. Else, all of us will be dead." The captain have rejected and tried to find him. The rocket was about to fell down and with the constant call from the crew, she finally came into rocket. Then they went away from Mars. But they weren't sure if he is alive or not.

Mysteriously he was alive and after a few hours, he woke up with a little(!) pain and notices that, there was a hole in the chest part of his suit. He was so lucky that an iron pipe have prevented him to die from lack of oxygen. He was all right except the iron pipe on his chest.

The iron pipe was connected to a big antenna and prevent him from going away. He could inconnect the iron pipe from the antenna and went away to colonies and started to record every single thing he did to recorder to prove he has been alive before his dead. Then he said, "I don't wanna die here" and started to make complex calculations to determine how many days he can survive and what he could do.

He was botanist and with the power of acknowledge he has, he decided to plant his own food in order to live longer to be saved. Because he needs to surive at least 3 years according to his complex calculations and his current situation wasn't enough.

After he planted those potato crops, he needed a watering system. He used his mind and decided to use unused hydrogens to combine them with oxygen and fire it to create watering system. He did everything, made that system. But he have forgotten to add his own usage of oxygen and because of the oxygen level in the hub, it exploded and threw him away. But he used to be thrown away from the sandstorm so with the resistence of not dying bacuse of being throwed(!), he didn't die.

He cleaned and set the solar panels, checked the crops, and continued to stay determined while the NASA was doing funeral speech of him in the Earth. Then the director of Mars Missions Vincent Kapoor had a talk with the main boss about accessing the satellites. He got denied and a mission controller noticed that there were some clues shows that the astronout they left didn't die unbelieveably. At that moment they hopefully woke up from long sleep.

They need to explain that they forgot a man in Mars and said "sorry" to everyone while Mark was losing himself with loud musics plaing in the hub. Then he decided to make an escape plan. He decided which path he should use to reach to next rocket which will come after 3 years and make test drivings with rover. He made it warmer with the help of radioactive isotope which can kill him in a few seconds with by a little damage it get.

After that, NASA have discussed to make a plan to save him earlier, they've talked about what can they do and made calculations to save him. While they were discussing, our Mark was harvesting crops of potatoes. A few days have passed and Mark went to find the pathfinder in order to have communication with NASA. The NASA understood his purpose and have activated their pathfinder.

They finally had a successful connect via pathfinder. In first, they used to have a communication with yes and no, then they upgraded it into a numberical communication, which is hard. At last, with the help of a few extensions to devices they could have a better communication with chatting like a in-game chat. Mark learned that NASA didn't say his crew about him and he sweared at them in front of the whole world. He was actually right for being angry because of the stress he have been dealing.

Then NASA decided to explain everything to crew. They were so sad to hear it and had nothing to do but waiting. According to NASA's calculations, they could save him 50 days before his death and it seems risky to have that few amount day. At that night, while Mark was entering to hub, there was an pressure malfunction and he got throwed 3th time with a huge explosion. Again, he wasn't dead but the glass of his headset was broken and he was losing oxygen. Fastly, he could finish repairing it with tape while oxygen level was under 5%. He barely saved from being death.
