I would like to express my gratitude to the Vanguard University Liberal Studies program in which I learned how to be an effective educator. As well as acknowledge my Children's Literature class, which has pushed me to create something that is special to me. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has always believed in me and served as a mentor that has led me to where I am today.

In a cozy little house on Maple Street, Louie woke up with a wag of his tail. Today was a special day because his owner, Emma, was taking him to the park for the very first time. Louie's heart raced with excitement as he imagined all the new sights and smells that awaited him.

When Louie arrived at the park, his nose twitched with the scent of fresh grass and blooming flowers. His eyes widened at the vast expanse of greenery before him and fluttering butterflies.

Louie trotted through the park, his paws padding softly on the lush grass. He marveled at the towering trees that whispered secrets in the breeze and the sparkling pond where ducks quacked and splashed.

Suddenly, out popped a playful squirrel, its bushy tail twitching with curiosity. Louie's eyes lit up with glee as he wagged his tail in greeting. The squirrel chattered excitedly and ran toward the tree, inviting Louie to play a game of chase.

The playful squirrel raced up the tall oak tree, its tail flicking back and forth with excitement. Louie watched in awe as the squirrel leaped from branch to branch with ease, daring him to catch up. Without a second thought, Louie dashed after the squirrel.

The game of chase continued for what felt like hours, with Louie and the squirrel darting through the entire park. Louie's heart raced with excitement as he pushed through to keep up with his new friend.

As Louie was playing in the grass, he spotted three other dogs in the distance. There was a golden retriever named Max, a Beagle named Bella and an old wise husky named Winston.
