GET TO KNOW ME
My name is Peyton Henderson, and I am originally from Springdale Arkansas. I am a history education major which I obtained at Arkansas Tech University. Things that I do to keep me entertained are reading, hiking, and working out. I have two dogs named Biscuit and Tank, which I love dearly. Fun fact about myself when I was getting my degree, I played football! Also, my favorite food is Little Debbie's.

Now we get to talk about my favorite curriculum of class rules! My first is respecting each other not only in the room but every person that is associated in your life. I want you not just to learn academically but also to learn life lessons that you can share with your own life.

My second rule is really simple, but I find this important in all aspects of life, please give everything you have in everything you do. You won't succeed in life without giving effort and I want to build that skill within the class.

My third rule is to prepare academically and mentally for class. Associating this rule with the two previous rules giving effort involves studying and doing things outside of the class to achieve your goals. With respect, it shows me that you are trying and have dedication to follow my instructions and lectures.

This rule is extremely important in just being honest with me and your work. You don't learn if you cheat or if you lie about not finishing an assignment. This can be associated with behavioral actions too.

Listening and following directions is key to my classroom setting due to the number of lectures ill will be giving out. The ability to do this will easily help you achieve in my class.

I know I've been pondering on about the importance of my rules but the final one that I want you to know is to have fun. I'm going to try and make it fun and interesting so you all will be engaged in the studies.

Now I just want to tell you some of the tools I'm going to incorporate into the curriculum and some skills you will obtain while taking my class. My first skill will be note-taking. Being able to decisively break down lectures and textbooks to find the importance and morals of the history topic we are discussing. This will help you memorize important information and later down the line use this in any subject that you take.

Another skill that might be unnecessary but effective is research methods and understanding the annotations of whether it's primary or secondary. This skill can help find reliable sources in any class to use in your assignments or projects that you have upcoming.

A primary skill that all historians can take out of this course would be the ability to communicate with other peers. Collecting information and correlating it with peers and debating over a common solution. This just helps you guys cooperate and develop a common goal or solution.
