It is the first day of classes for many, but specifically for Henry the sheep, and Frederick the Frog! They are both super excited for their first day.

Both Henry and Frederick make it to class on time. Henry Has made two new friends! JJ the rooster, and Mya the cat. They invite him to sit by them.

Frederick on the other hand is having a hard time making new friends. No one wants to talk, or let him sit by them. He is forced to sit in the front by the teacher. He is having a bad day.

It is almost lunch time for the students, which will be followed by recess. So far Fred is still having a bad day, the students keep looking at him and whispering. It is making Frederick feel sad and left out. 

The students have now been dismissed to lunch. Everyone has a friend to sit with, besides Frederick. No one wants to sit with him. He is still hearing whispers about him, and getting funny stares.

The students are still eating lunch and enjoying themselves. The teacher went over to sit with Frederick and see why he has been by himself all day. Frederick tells him the students are leaving him out.

The teacher held a class meeting after speaking with Frederick. He wanted to discuss the actions of the students, and why Frederick is being left out.

"Bullying will not be tolerated or accepted in my classroom. In here we will respect each other and treat others how we want to be treated. We will skip recess today so everyone can think about their actions."

School was dismissed. Frederick is now heading home for the day.

I wish people would try to talk to me. I don't know why they won't.

On his way home he came across JJ, Henry, and Mya. They were walking home together. So Frederick thought this was the perfect time to try to talk to them.

Frederick called out to them, "Hey guys!" But he did not get the response he expected. JJ and Mya were really mean to him.

Hey guys!

Ew, what do you want?

Yeah, what do you want from us sticky frog.

Although Frederick did not get the response he wanted, he still gave it a shot. But JJ turned him down, and Mya just laughed at him.

I really would like to be your guy's friend, you all seem really cool.

No thank you. I think frogs are weird.

Henry overheard all of that conversation. He went home to think about the actions of his friends, and how he could personally make a difference.

Henry went home that day and spoke with his mother about the situation.  He asked, "Mom how can I make a difference at school while someone is being bullied?"

The mother responded, " Well Henry, I did not raise you to be a mean sheep! You need to be a leader and not a follower. Be a positive influence on your peers. Be the change you want to see."  

It was the next day of school. The entire class time Henry could not stop thinking about what his mother had told him. He was trying to formulate a plan based on her words.

It is now lunch time for the students. Henry cannot help but notice Frederick eating by himself again. So he asks his friends, "What do you guys think about inviting Frederick to eat with us?" 

He did not get the response he expected. JJ responded, " I do not want him eating with us, he is a loner." Mya responded, " Yeah, I dont understand why you want him to." To that Henry responded, "I do not know him and I am not going to judge him. I am going to eat with him."

So Henry went to eat with Frederick, they had great conversation. It turns out Frederick was super funny. After hearing how much they were laughing, the others became interested in Frederick.

On the walk home everyone was talking to Frederick, and saying how funny he was. They could not believe they never talked to him before.
