It started in 753 BC. Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus. Romulus got mad and killed Remus, leaving him to be the first king of Rome. (Rome was named after him.) After a while it continued as a monarchy and got through 7 more kings of Rome.
Next, in 509 BC Rome's monarchy ended with the overthrow of its 7th king. The end caused lots of problems like struggles between patricians and plebeians. This also started a long journey that began with the gain of political power, political bodies, the tribunes, and more.
Then, in 450 BC the first Roman law code was written down on 12 bronze tablets known as the Twelve Tables and publicly displayed in the Roman Forum. These laws included legal procedure, civil writes, property writes, and the basis for all future Rome civil laws.

After that, in 59 BC Julius Caesar, after emerging from military glory in Spain, he returned for the consulship. From his alliance with Pompey and Crassus, Caesar reunited the governorship of wealthy provinces.
So on in 45 BC, Caesar invades Italy which ignites a civil war from which he emerges as dictator of Rome for life. Less than a year later he was murdered by a group of enemies. Consul Mark Antony and Caesar's adopted heir, Octavian faces and takes power. In the Battle of Actium after a devastating defeat Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide.

Continuing in 27 BC, Octavian was the sole leader of Rome and all of its provinces. To avoid any jealousy he made sure his position as absolute ruler had all the power for himself. Octavian assumed the title of Augustus becoming the first emperor of Rome. He ruled in the Empire Pax Ramona.
Moving on in 324-330 CE, Constantine emerged from the struggles as sole emperor of a reunified Rome. He moved the capital to the city of Byzantium which he renamed. He made Christianity the official religion practiced. 30 years after his death the eastern and western empire were divided.
Soon after in 476 CE, The fall of the Western Roman Empire was the loss of political control in the Roman Empire a process in which it failed to expand and control.
Accordingly in 527 CE, Justinian I who took power would rule until his death. He was the first great ruler of the empire. During the years of his reign the empire included most land surrounding the Mediterranean Sea as his armies had conquered part of the former Western Roman Empire.
Finally in 565 CE, at the time of Justinian's death the empire regained supreme as the largest and most powerful. Debts occurred through war that put the empire into financial status decrease. They were forced to heavily tax their citizens in order to keep afloat.
