I dedicate this to My Teachers

There was a crime scene today and as a world wide famous detective. It's imperative for me to investigate this case. At approximately 9:11 AM(49 min before opening) the alarm was rung.
The Mona Lisa was stolen before the museum had opened. It was being held to be seen in Paris, France. There have been crimes in Paris but this one spread like rapid fire.
Anyway I was to take a flight there to investigate the crime. When I got there I was rushed in to check the crime scene.
Chapter: 1 Beginning to solve the mystery
There I was at the place where the Mona Lisa was supposed to be but is now not. I was shown all the suspects they found and all the clues they have found so far. They had video evidence, foot & finger prints, and suspects who were at the scene.
They brought in a bunch of people for me to investigate. I'll name a few: Barry, Derek, Victor, Ajax, Nadica, Moses, Linda. Some of the rest of the culprits are not needed to say because they were discarded quickly to be not guilty. Not many people were left to be the suspect.
Now the suspects were narrowed down to 3 people: Barry; the janitor; Derek; the manager; and Victor; the security guard. I extracted some information from them.
Barry exclaimed, "I would never! I was too busy cleaning the garbage these kids keep on throwing on the floor!"
I then asked Victor, "I was busy guarding the Venetian painting, he then added "my favourite painting."
Finally it was Derek's turn, "Why would I steal something that makes money for me!"
"Anyways, I was busy marking paperwork before all the people started entering."
I now think I have enough information to figure out the case. But just then someone came running in...
"Sir ⎯ I mean Detective James, I made it!", "Oh, Marie your finally here!".
That is my assistant Marie-Françoise, she helps me with most of my cases, apparently she was late due to traffic.
She also got some information from others visiting the museum, she had told me all the information and now I had a lot of information to work with so I jotted down in my notebook.
I started to try to connect the dots, Derek was the manager, Victor was the security guard, and Barry was the janitor.
Chapter 2: Connecting the dots
I started to see who was most suspicious; Derek said he wouldn't steal something that makes money for him; Barry said he was busy cleaning garbage off the floor; and Victor was guarding the Venetian painting, WAIT the Venetian painting is normally put near the Mona Lisa!
In the morning I requested the camera evidence and watched it. I had found both Barry, Victor, and a person I couldn't make out, all touched the painting! The mysterious person had stolen it; Barry wore gloves.
I asked Barry and Victor after I had jotted it down in my notebook. They all had different explanations making it difficult to see who was guilty.
Barry stated, "I was just there to pick some garbage up, there were some pieces of dust behind the Mona Lisa."
Next was Victor, "As you know, I guard the painting near it, so when I saw it was tilted I was like 'Hey I should make it straight' so I did."
I was a little suspicious about him in the morning and now I'm even more suspicious about him!` Like why would you just decide after the janitor cleans up to tilt the painting, you could of did it before he was there.
Another clue pointing Victor. I'm starting to think that this case wasn't all it was cut out to be. At first I thought this would be a hard case to solve but now thinking over it so far it's been pretty straight forward. All of my clues so far are pointing to Victor being the criminal
I then checked for fingerprints around where the Mona Lisa would've been. I found Victor's and Barry's fingerprints, it all checked out. Marie-Françoise then pointed out that she couldn't make out something but to me I had it all figured out. To me it was almost guaranteed to be Victor.
Chapter 3: Gathering Information
I now had all the information I needed but needed to question him and Derek first. First I asked Derek if he thought that Victor might be the one who stole it.
"I knew it was him, he used to be employee of the month for 17 months straight", told Derek, "But one day he lost that streak to a kid who wrote 'HI' on the back of the painting he was guarding at the time."
"Now I feel bad for him", I followed, "but also you can't just steal a painting because you lost employee of the month."
