The Tennis Court Oath was an event that happened on June 20 1789.

Members of the third estate gathered up in a tennis court and disobeyed the king's order to stop. The members took an oath or a promise to never separate until a constitution has been written.

In the end the king found some unity between the third estate and stopped being harsh.

King Louis XVI ordered the clergy and the nobility with the third estate in the National Assembly

This event was pretty important due to it showing power that was represented by the people.
