The genre that I chose for this book is children's fairytale and this genre typically uses fictional characters, scenes and events to demonstrate a moral or life lesson that the author deems important for their audience to learn. While these stories almost always contain cartoon graphic images, this is the only convention of my story that is different. For my story, I used a blend of real and cartoon images to not only give the story and lesson more realism but to hopefully enhance the youths interest in being outside in that type of scenery as I believe spending most of your time outside at a young age is vital. My intention with the creation of this book is to teach young kids about the consequences of greed and manipulation. I think it's important for young kids to understand their blessings and advantages that they may or may not have in comparison to their peers. Along with this its important for kids to know that during times of prosperity, it's important to remain humble and thankful for what you have. I conveyed these ideas through the very limited illustrations and scenery that I had at my disposal. I tried to make the nature pictures as beautiful as possible to hint at the idea that even when things aren't going right, there is beauty and peace to be found everywhere. I used fish to be the medium in which the main character gauges his fortune and this is partially because fish are everywhere and are there for anyone to go after if they want to pursue that sort of a career so that symbolism carries into luck and can even flow into greed when there is an abundance. The message of greed is mainly conveyed by the fisherman who essentially lives his life on how many fish he is able to bring in and despite all of the blessings with his boat, the natural scenery and his independence, he still ends up susceptible to greed when his blessings were surrounding him the entire time.

In the town of Fisherville, there lived the unluckiest fisherman to ever exist.

Every day, the fisherman would set out to sea.
Every day, the fisherman returned with empty nets.
Until...
*thump *thump
The angler finally wrangled in his first catch.
"Aha, I've finally got one!"
Suddenly the fish began to speak...
"If you release me, I can show you where to find a dozen fish!"

So the fisherman released him and set off to find the dozen fish he was told about.

"Hoorah! I've caught twelve fish!" The fisherman exclaimed.
Again, the fish began to speak to the fisherman...

"Wait!" the fish said.
"We are only a school of 12. We can tell you where to find even more fish!"
