There once was a boy named Sam. He loved spending time with his friends at school. But then, one day, his family decided to move to the big city of Austin, Texas. He was sad to leave his home, but excited to move to a brand new place where he would make new friends at his new school.

Sam was super excited to go to his new school, but he was worried about one thing. He didn't know how he was going to make new friends.

Along the way, Sam spots one of his neighbor, Ms. Megan. Sam asks her how he can make friends at his new school. Ms. Megan tells Sam about Christianity and says " You must love everyone else in the same way Christ loves you. (Warren) As long as you love everyone the way Christ loves you, you will make tons of friends" Sam left Ms. Megan's house with new advice and kept walking to school.

After leaving Ms. Megan's house, Sam spots Ms. Linda in the distance. He goes up to her and asks how she thinks he should make friends. Ms. Linda starts to share her Buddhist beliefs. "Step 6 of the Eightfold Path is right effort. This means that we will prevent ourselves and others from evil. (Rahula)" says Ms. Linda. After listening to Ms. Linda he heads back on his walk to school.

After leaving Ms. Linda's house, he spots Mr. James. Mr. James is Islamic, so he thought that it would be a good idea to ask for his advice too. He shares, "The fourth pillar of Islam is charity. People who are comfortable should share with the less fortunate. (Smith) The reason we do this is to promote peace and love for everyone. (Zakat)" After listening to Mr. James's advice, he heads off to school.

Sam finally makes it to school and at recess, Sam goes up to Holly and says "I love your smile!" Holly is flattered by Sam's compliment and says "Thank you! Would you like to be friends?" Sam excitedly replies "Yes!" Sam has officially made his first friend.

Would you like to be friends?
