Hi! My name is Spot and I am going to take you on a journey to talk about some of the many different holidays you may or may not know about! 

New Years Day is the first holiday of the year so it is the first holiday I am going to talk about. New Years Day has been celebrated for a very long time. It is also one of the only holidays that everyone in the whole world celebrates. The importance is not only that it is a new year but celebrating all of wonderful things that will come in the new year! 

Next is Valentines day which is always celebrated on February 14th! This is the day to celebrate a special partner or someone that you love. Anyone could be your valentine, like your mom, dad, friend, or pet! Anyone who you want to show love and appreciation to this is the day to do it!

The next holiday is in March and it is St. Patricks Day! This holiday is held on March 17th every year. This holiday is all about remembering St. Patrick, who was a very important person in Ireland a long time ago. Everyone wears green clothes and decorates with shamrocks, which are three-leafed clovers. 

Next is Easter which is celebrated in the spring time. It's all about celebrating new life and hope. A big part of Easter is the Easter bunny, who brings chocolate and sweets and and hides them for children to find. Another activity that is popular is egg decorating. 

Cinco de Mayo is next and it is like a big party that happens on May 5th and is mostly celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States. It also a way to celebrate how strong and brave people can be! There are colorful parades with dancers and lots of music!

Another holiday is called Kwanzaa. 

It happens at the end of December, from December 26th to January 1st and is celebrated by some African American families! It is important because it celebrates unity and working together. Families come together and eating a yummy meal together as a way to celebrate!

Next is the 4th of July! This holiday is like a big birthday party for the United States! This holiday usually involves big cookouts and beautiful fireworks!
