Why aren't cities prepared for the future?
It is estimated that in 2020, 1.1 billion urban
residents lived in slums or
similar conditions, and in the next 30 years, it is
expected that another 2 billion people will live
in such settlements, primarily in developing
countries.

What are the most urgent challenges cities face?
Inequality and urban levels of energy
consumption and pollution are some of the
main challenges. Cities occupy only 3% of the
Earth's land surface but account for between
60% and 80% of energy consumption and 75%
of carbon emissions.

How does this affect me?
Over time, these problems will affect the entire
population. Inequality can lead to unrest and
insecurity, pollution deteriorates the health of the
population and affects workers' productivity, thus
impacting the economy, and natural disasters can
alter people's lifestyles. Air pollution is not just an
urban problem that harms the health of millions but
also affects rural areas and villages.

What if we let cities grow organically?
By embracing sustainability, we choose to build
cities where all citizens have a decent quality of
life and are part of the productive dynamics of
the city, fostering shared prosperity and social s
tability without harming the environment.

Is implementing sustainable practices expensive?
Compared to the benefits, the cost is minimal.
The cost of creating a functional public
transportation network, for example, is high,
but the benefits in terms of economic activity,
quality of life, environment, and overall success
of an interconnected city are even greater.

What can I do to contribute to achieving this goal?
Actively participate in the administration and management of your city. Advocate for the type of city you believe is needed. Define the overall concept of your building, street, and neighborhood, and act accordingly to achieve it.
