Imagine you are on a beach. The waves
crash on the shore. Seagulls squawk in the
sky above your head. Far off in the distance
you hear the sound of a huge ship honking
his horn.

Have you ever wondered what is happening beneath
the waves? There is another world down there. In
fact, it is not much different than the world we know.

As you look beneath the waves you will find all types of
new creatures. There are big fish and little fish. There
are families and kids. All you have to do to find these
things is look below the waves!

If you look all the way to the bottom of the
ocean you will find sea creatures living just like
people. Fish kids go to school. Moms and Dads
have jobs.

School
Bank
Hospital
Sea creatures even have their own homes.
Some homes are small, but others are big. All
the fish that live at the bottom of the ocean are
friends. They look out for each other and help to
take care of one another.

Not everyone lives in the same part of the ocean. Some
creatures live in reefs. Others live in the sandy shallows. Still
others live in the depths of the ocean. That is where Gonzo
first lived. Gonzo is a seahorse. He was born in the depths of
the ocean and lived there with his mom and dad.

One day Gonzo’s mom and dad, Millie and Bert, decided it
was time to move. They didn’t really have friends in the
depths. The sharks were moving in and their fish friends
were moving out. So Gonzo’s mom and dad moved the
whole family to the sandy shallows.

They knew there would be lots of nice
homes and there were lots of other
families with young kids close to Gonzo’s
age. Gonzo’s parents thought this would
be best for their little family.

“Imagine all the friends Gonzo will have,”
said Gonzo’s dad, Bert, as they made their
journey. Gonzo’s mom, Millie, was excited
about finding a new home and having
friends over for dinner.

But when Gonzo and his family arrived in the sandy
shallows, they realized things were not quite how they
imagined they would be. Millie and Bert had a hard time
finding a new home.

All the houses are much more expensive in the sandy
shallows because it’s a popular place to live. When they
finally found a house they could afford, it was much
smaller than their neighbors’ homes. They were also
very far away from everyone else.
