Exposition: I’m currently picking the most perfect flowers ever for my crown outside in our classroom garden. My name is Reese and I’m in second grade and we’re making flower crowns as a gift for the soon to be graduating fifth graders. Everyone is participating but one student, Stetson. Stetson would rather read or do extra math than be gardening. I find that ridiculous.

The sunshine outside was like a nice warm blanket fresh out of the drier. I always enjoy being outside, I feel so at peace with myself. The way the blades of grass blow in the wind and the funny little dances bees do before landing on a flower are so mesmerizing.
“Okay, does everybody know who their fifth grade buddy is?”, Ms. Oral asks while looking around cautiously.
“YES!!!!”all my classmates cheered.
I cover my ears, they are always too loud even outside.
We start picking our flowers in the garden to make a flower crown for our fifth grade buddies. Everyone is running around grabbing different flowers while I stand still overlooking all the flowers.
“Reese dear, you need to start picking flowers for your crown,” Ms. Oral says calmly.
“I know Ms. Oral, I just need to find the perfect ones,:” I say smiling ear to ear.
“Okay dear but remember we only have 10 minutes to pick the flowers” Ms.Oral says walking away to stop a kid from eating a worm.

I sigh looking over the flowers again, how was I supposed to pick with so many options?
“You know it doesn’t matter that much,” Stetson says, annoyed.
I roll my eyes, “At least I’m doing it.” I snap.
Stetson looks up from his book and his face is as red as a tomato, “I don’t like to waste my time on useless things,”
I’m speechless. How can he think that this is useless? “You’re crazy!” I yell a bit too loud.

Ms. Oral walks over and asks “What is all this yelling about?”
She looks a little annoyed and I immediately apologize for being too loud. I hate it when I make a teacher upset.
“Sorry,sorry,sorry,” I beg for forgiveness.
Ms. Oral pats me on the head and smiles “You’re fine Reese,”
I breathe a sigh of relief and point to Stetson,
“He doesn’t want to make a crown for his buddy! He thinks it's useless and a waste of his time!”
Stetson immediately looks up ready to protest but Ms. Oral stops him.
“Reese sometimes people don’t like a task they are assigned and that's okay,” Ms. Oral says while bending down to my level.
“But…” Ms.Oral cuts me off
“I understand how you feel about hearing someone say that something you care about deeply is useless but we have to understand that everyone is different and is entitled to think what they think,”
I don’t believe how Ms.Oral is siding with Stetson? Maybe it's because he's super smart?
As if Ms.Oral can read my mind she says “It’s like how Stetson really likes math and loves doing his homework, you really like creating stuff and love making people happy, do you like doing homework?”
I shake my head
