Moving was a tough change, even in elementary school making new friends was hard for me. Everyone had already started their sports together, and I had moved away from my softball team, and girl scout group.

Making those friends was difficult due to being a tad anti-social. My mom had always pushed me to make new friends.

She sent me onto the bus on the first day of 2nd grade telling me to try and talk to the other kids. I wanted to make her proud, so I spoke to the two girls behind me on the bus.

“Hi, Im Savannah, Im new here.” They introduced themselves.

“I'm Emma and this is Cyanna! What grade are you in?”

“I'm in second grade, what about you guys?”

“So are we!”

Cyanna spoke for the first time, “We have Mrs. Dunn, Who's your teacher?”

“I have the same!”

Cyanna offered to let me sit with them In class and I accepted the invitation.

I made it through the whole school day without being scared. My new friends told me what I needed to know about school and their neighborhood friend group and how to join it.
On the bus ride home, Cyanna asked me to hang out and we could ride our scooters and bikes. I accepted the offer and went home to tell my mom. We only lived a block away, so when she came to my door and asked me to play, I was so excited.

We were able to ride up and down the streets and sidewalks. Cyanna went into the road first and I followed, when I went back up to the curb everything flashed. My scooter hit the curb, and I went over the front of my scooter and slammed into the sidewalk.

I felt all the pain rush to my arm. Cyanna ran over to me and immediately came to my assistance. I started screaming for my mom and she ran to my house and got her. My mom ran outside for me and ran to me.

She lifted me walked me to the house and told Cyanna that she’d let her know what would happen later. I could hear Cyanna shout to me through my cries, “Feel better Savannah!” That made me crack a smile. I had made friends.

My family aided me and we made our way to the hospital. I had broken my arm.

After being cared for at the hospital I went home, the hospital told me I had to stay home.

My next 2 weeks I have consisted of me sitting in bed with the pain in my right arm.
