I have been playing baseball for Deep Run for eight years.

My favorite positions are first and third base. If I had to choose another position I would say pitcher. I usually only play in the spring and the fall but this year I chose to play in the summer as well.

I chose to play in the summer this year because it is my last year to play for Deep Run because I age out of the program. So far the summer Connie Mack has been tough, but I was told it is more intense. I would now like to tell you about a game we had this past weekend
On Sunday we played a game from one pm to about five thirty pm. We always start every game with an hour of practice beforehand. We do a few fielding drills and then we practice swinging our bats. I did well with the batting practice but needed more time doing the fielding drills.
I did not get any because we needed to have a team huddle and then start the game.
In the team huddles the coaches try to amp us up to play. We talk about the umpires and how they will call the shots.
We also talk about the other team. We watch carefully during the warm up practice to get an inside look on what the players look like on and off the field. Then the coaches give us all compliments or tell us some strengthens we have with a baseball before we get together to shout “1, 2, 3, Deep Run.”
In the first inning I played left field. As I stated before my favorite positions are first and third base. I was bummed that I was not playing in a spot I wanted to be in. I decided to pay attention to the ball anyway but I was still not happy about it.
I got no action at all while in left field. It was a quick one, two, and three out inning. Next up it was our turn to bat. We had made it through four batters during our turn. The first batter up hit a single out to right field. As we call it, “A bomber.” He then proceeded to steal second base. Then he stole third. The second batter hit an infield fly, he was out at first base,

but our runner on third scored! Our last two batters were struck out. As we were preparing to take the field again I was hoping to be at first or third base. Where did I end up? Left field again.
