My Story
In my 11th grade in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, and schools were shut down according to government guidelines. This was a critical time for me, as I had chosen a significant stream that would shape my future. With bookstores closed, my anxiety grew as I couldn't buy the necessary books for my studies.

One pivotal incident changed everything. My school organized a crucial online class via Microsoft Teams to cover an essential topic in Mathematics that many students, including myself, found challenging. I was particularly anxious about this topic because it was fundamental to my chosen stream.
The session began with technical difficulties—unstable internet connections and audio issues. Despite these initial setbacks, the teacher persevered, using Microsoft Teams' features to share her screen and explain the concepts clearly. She utilized digital whiteboards and interactive tools within Teams, which made the complex topic more understandable.

The technological marvel didn't stop there. My school quickly adapted to the new normal by organizing all classes via Microsoft Teams. Each day, I would log into these virtual classrooms, where my teachers delivered lectures and conducted discussions. Despite the initial challenges of unstable internet connections, we soon mastered this new mode of learning. The digital landscape became our new school, where we interacted, learned, and grew.

DOMO (2021) collected the data during pandemic which shows that at every 1 minute of the day, 100k users connect over MS teams, while zoom hosts 856 minutes of webinars.
Unable to meet friends in person to discuss these concepts, we formed a study group on Microsoft Teams immediately after the class. We used the platform to share notes, ask questions, and solve problems together. This collaborative effort helped solidify our understanding and built a sense of community despite the physical distance. Robinson (2010) says that great learning happens in the groups and collaboration is the stuff of growth.

Additionally, I explored online courses and MOOCs on Coursera to supplement my learning, specifically focusing on topics that aligned with what we covered in school. Growing popularity and high enrollment rates are forcing many universities to take a second look at their non- involvement.(Online PhD Programs, 2024) Coursera became an invaluable part of my learning journey. This extra effort paid off, as the combined resources from Microsoft Teams and Coursera deepened my understanding and confidence in the subject.
MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) offers online courses where you can choose what you do , how you participate and only you can tell in the end if you've been successful, like in real life.(Dave Cormier, Dec 2010)
