Ryder grew up in a small, island town off of the coast of Japan with a closely-knit community who respected and honored their elders. Ryder had always dreamt of doing something fantastical with his life.

In this dream of Ryder's, he wanted to become a skilled karate master. But, there was one problem he found within himself.

Ryder could not seem to find the motivation and inspiration he needed, even though he searched far, wide, long and hard throughout his village. He then had a thought...

Old Man Seonsaeng (a shared term within the Asian culture, otherwise known as Sensei) lived across the island, on the tallest mountain and far away from the village. He was known as a very wise man and the master of karate on Ryder's island and the neighboring islands.

Ryder said to himself...

"If I could get to the other side of the mountain and speak with Old Man Seonsaeng, maybe he could tell me where to find the motivation that I need."

Ryder began his journey out of the village, across the coast and up the trail that led to the mountain.

Upon reaching the peak of the tallest mountain on the island, he met Old Man Seonsaeng, with one question in mind. Ryder's question was, "Mr. Old Man Seonsaeng, I have looked everywhere for motivation to be the best karate master that there has ever been, but I cannot seem to find it. Could you point me in the right direction?" Old Man Seonsaeng studied Ryder for a minute, and then pointed to the middle of Ryder's chest and said...
"Ryder, you have searched everywhere outside, but have yet to try looking inside yourself."

Old Man Seonsaeng continued...
"I cannot point you in the direction of motivation and inspiration, but I can point to you. This is where I have found all of my wisdom, and the passions that gave me such wisdom. I am known as the best karate master across this island and many others. I have myself to thank for this because of the passion I found within. You may dream of being a wonderful karate master, but dreams without passionate actions are just dreams."

Ryder ran as fast as he could down the mountain, across the beach, and back to the village before the sunset. Over and over he repeated, "Look within and act with passion...look within and act with passion."

Ryder trained and trained for years and years, and with his training came a passion for the art of karate. As his passion grew, his motivation to become the best karate master grew as well. Eventually, Ryder moved to the mountains and lived with Old Man Seonsaeng. This was until Old Man Seonsaeng returned to the clouds, and granted Ryder the privilege of the title "Old Man Seonsaeng", with Seonsaeng's last words being...
"Never forget, if you are lost, just look within and you will find the answer."
