Your life is a journey, enjoy the ride!
Paul Revere is mostly known for the midnight ride of April 18th, 1775, alerting the colonist about the British attack, which in turn sparked the Revolutionary War. He was also a son, a husband, and a father. Let's read to learn more about this brave man.

I was born about January 1, 1735, in Boston, Massachusetts. (My exact birthday is unknown) My father was a French immigrant by the name of Apollos Rivoire that came to the United States at the age of 13. My mom was Deborah Hichborn. She was born and raised in Boston. She came from an artisan family. I think this is where I get my talent from.
My Mom and Dad
My father loved America so much that he changed his name from Apollos to Paul. I was named after him since I was the oldest of 7 children. Coming from a family of skilled workers, it was no surprise that I would also grow to love the artisan in me. I learned so much from my dad, but he died in 1754 when I was only 19 years old.
I was a son
I took over the family business and had to support my mom and siblings. In 1756, I was called to be second lieutenant in the Massachusetts artillery.

I was a hard worker
In the Fall of 1756, I came back home and focused on what I knew to do best. I grew the family business of silversmiths. This is just a fancy word for making things out of silver. You know that thing you use to eat your cereal in the morning? Well, I made those. Want to see my work? See the next page.

I was a husband
In August of 1757 I married a beautiful woman by the name of Sarah Orne. Together we had eight wonderful children. She passed away in 1773. I later married again a woman by the name of Rachel Walker. I also had eight children with her. Can you guess how many children I had in total? That's right! Sixteen children.

This was our house from 1777 to 1800. The house still exists today in downtown Boston.
I was a Patriot
Things were changing in Boston, and not for the better. I became involved in politics. Have you heard of tea being dumped into the Boston Harbor? Well, I was a part of that. "No taxation without representation!" If you haven't heard this sentence yet, you will and hopefully you think of me.
