Once upon a time in a village in Central Java, there lived a middle-aged widow named Mbok Srini, she had no children.
Because she was lonely, she really hoped for a child, but unfortunately this hope was dashed because her husband had died.
He hoped that a miracle would happen to him, by always praying day and night to Almighty God so that he could be given a child.
One night, in her dream, Mbok Srini was visited by a giant figure who told her to go get a package under a big tree in the forest where she usually looked for firewood. When she woke up in the morning, Mbok Srini could hardly believe her dream last night.
“Could a miracle really happen to me?”
He asked in his heart doubtfully.
However, Mbok Srini tried to dispel her doubts. Full of hope, he rushed towards the forest pointed by the giant.
He was very surprised when he found a package that he thought contained a baby, but it only contained a cucumber seed. His heart began to wonder again.
"What does the giant mean by giving me a cucumber seed?" said Mbok Srini confusedly.
Without realizing it, a giant figure was standing behind him, laughing
"Ha ha ha…!" The giant's laughter.
How surprised he was because it was the giant who was present in his dream. He became afraid.
“Have mercy, Mr. Giant! Don't eat me!" Mbok Srini begged.
“I won't eat you. Don't you want a child?” asked the giant.
“That's right, Mr. Giant!” Mbok Srini answered nervously.
"Immediately plant the cucumber seeds! Later you will have a daughter. But, remember! You must hand the child over to me when she grows up," said the giant.
Without realizing it, Mbok Srini answered, "Okay, Giant! I am willing to hand over the child to you.”
Then he immediately planted the cucumber seeds in his field. With full hope, every day he takes good care of the plant. Two months later, the plant began to bear fruit.
As the days go by, the cucumbers become bigger than the cucumbers in general. The color is very different, because it is golden yellow.
When the cucumber was ripe, Mbok Srini picked the cucumber and took it home.
How surprised he was when he cut open the cucumber. He saw a very beautiful baby girl

How happy Mbok Srini's heart was to hear the sound of the cry of the baby she had longed for for a long time. He also gave the baby the name Timun Mas.
"Don't cry, my dear child... Timun Mas!" entertain Mbok Srini.
The middle-aged woman couldn't hide her happiness. Until his tears dripped down his cheeks. That feeling of happiness made him forget his promise.
He cared for and educated Timun Mas with love until she grew into a beautiful woman.
One night, Mbok Srini dreamed again that she was visited by a giant who gave her a message that in a week he would come to pick up Timun Mas.
His heart became sad, because he would be separated from the child he loved so much.
Seeing that Mbok Srini often sat pensive, Timun Mas wondered in his heart. One afternoon, Timun Emas dared to ask about her mother's sadness.
“Mom, why do you always seem sad lately?” asked Timun Mas.
Actually, Mbok Srini didn't want to tell the cause of her sadness, because she didn't want her child to be sad too.
“Forgive Mother, my child! "All this time, Mother has been keeping something secret from you," said Mbok Srini with a sad face. “What secret, ma'am?” asked Timun Mas curiously. “You know, Timun Mas! Actually, you are not my mother's biological child born from my mother's womb." Mbok Srini answered. Mother had not finished talking, Timun Mas suddenly interrupted. "What does that mean, Mother?" asked Timun Mas.
Mbok Srini also told all the secrets until she had a dream last night that a giant figure would come to pick up her child to be used as food. Timun Mas was shocked as if he couldn't believe it.
“I don't want to go with that giant. "I really love Mom," said Timun Mas
Hearing Timun Mas' words, Mbok Srini fell into contemplation again. He looked for a way to keep his child safe so that he wouldn't become the giant's meal.
He told Timun Mas to pretend to be sick. That way, the giants won't want to eat them. When the sun began to set, the giant came to Mbok Srini.
"Hey, where's the kid? "I'll take him now," asked the giant.
“Sorry, Mr. Giant! The child is very sick. If you eat it now, of course the meat won't taste good. How about you come here in three days? "I will cure the disease first," persuaded Mbok Srini, who was trying to buy time until she found a way for Timur Mas to survive.
"Okay, then! But, you have to promise to hand over the child," said the giant.
After Mbok Srini promised, the giant disappeared. He found a way to save his child from the giant. He will ask for help from a hermit who lives on a mountain.
"My child! Early tomorrow morning Mother will go to the mountains to meet a hermit. "He can help us to stop the giant's evil intentions," said Mbok Srini.
“That's right, ma'am! "We have to destroy the giant," said Timun Mas
