It was a nice, Sunday afternoon. Belle and her sister Emma were waiting 

for Grandpa and Gammie to come and pick them up. The girls were going 

for a sleepover, then off to a vacation with their grandparents.

Everyone got in the car. Belle had her beloved Squeaky, a stuffed little 

sheep. Emma had blankie. Everyone said goodbye to mom and dad and new 

baby Paige.

When they got to Papa's house they came in and put their suitcases 

down. Squeaky was happy to be at Papa's. She has been going there almost 

eight years and has had many fun days with Belle.

The next morning the car was packed and we were off to the Pittsburgh Zoo. 

Squeaky loved to ride in the car.

When they arrived at the zoo, Papa thought it was best to leave 

blankie and Squeaky in the car. "We don't want to loose them", Papa 

stated. That was the start of Squeaky's sadness. She wanted to see the 

animals all the fun sights, but she stayed quietly in the car with blankie. 

Squeaky thought, "Tomorrow I will go to the amusement park and ride all the 

rides with Belle." It will be a grand day!

In the morning on the second day, Squeaky arose early thinking of all the fun 

she would have that day. Papa announced, once again, the Squeaky and blankie 

should stay in the hotel. Belle quickly agreed.

The day was filled with a lot of excitement - fun rides, yummy food and many 

games to play!

At the end of the day, Belle and Emma were so tired and ready to go back to 

the hotel. When they got there, no one noticed that Squeaky had been crying, 

missing Belle, missing all the fun. 

The next morning it was time to eat breakfast, pack and then begin their journey 

back to Ohio, to Papa's house.

Everything was packed, room was checked for lost articles and off they went!

Riding home Belle never noticed that something was wrong, very wrong. When 

it was time for bed, Belle went to get Squeaky, but where was she?
