From the moment we arrived in Guatemala City, the vibrant energy of the country enveloped us. Our trip had begun and we were eager to explore some of the most iconic sites in Guatemala. The first stop on our itinerary was the majestic Lake Atitlán, known as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

Day 1: Lake Atitlán

Upon arriving at Lake Atitlán, the landscape that greeted us was nothing short of spectacular. Surrounded by three towering volcanoes, the lake's crystal clear water reflected the blue sky and fluffy clouds like a mirror. We got on a boat that took us through the calm waters, while we admired the Mayan towns that are located on its shores. Each with its own personality, these towns were colorful and vibrant, with markets filled with hand-woven textiles and local crafts.

We decided to make a stop in San Juan La Laguna, a town known for its art and weaving. There, we met a women's cooperative who taught us the traditional process of dyeing fabrics with natural dyes. It was impressive to see how the cultural legacy was kept alive through the generations.
