This story is dedicated to all of the different students in the world that learn differently than others, and to all of the teachers who get to watch these students grow and who grow with them.

(Leo is a 9 year old boy with ADHD.)
In a colorful fifth-grade classroom, there was a boy named Leo. Leo was full of energy and loved sports, but he often struggled to stay focused in class.

Can we play soccer today?

(Ms. Rivera is Leo's 5th grade teacher.)

One day, Leo was so excited about his favorite sport that he interrupted Ms. Rivera during a lesson. "Can we play soccer today?" he shouted.

Leo, I know you're excited, but let's take turns to share our thoughts. How about we plan a sports day together?

Ms. Rivera smiled gently. "Leo, I know you’re excited, but let’s take turns to share our thoughts. How about we plan a sports day together?"

Really? That would be awesome!
Leo’s eyes lit up! "Really? That would be awesome!" Ms. Rivera encouraged him to share his ideas with the class.

I want everyone to have fun!
As the sports day approached, Leo felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. "I want everyone to have fun!" he thought.

Let's make this the best day ever!
Finally, the day of the sports event arrived. Leo was buzzing with energy as he greeted his classmates. "Let’s make this the best day ever!"

I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!
During the team race, Leo’s excitement got the best of him. He accidentally bumped into his teammate Jess, causing her to fall. Feeling terrible, Leo rushed over, apologizing immediately. "I'm so sorry! I didn’t mean to!" he said, his voice sincere.

Let's finish the race together!
Jess smiled. "Let’s finish the race together!" Leo felt relieved and happy. The two of them ran to the finish line as fast as they could.

At the end of the event, Ms. Rivera awarded Leo with the "Most Spirited Team Player" trophy. Leo beamed with pride.

As Leo held the trophy, he thought, "I didn’t just win a trophy; I made friends!" His heart felt full as his classmates cheered.
Through teamwork and understanding, Leo learned that being different is something to celebrate!
