Hello, I am George Washington, the United States First President. 

I was a very important person in the founding of our nation, and because of this I had the honor of serving as the first president to this beautiful nation. In this story I will be telling you my life, before, during, and after my presidency.

I was born February 22, 1732 to my parents, Augustine and Mary Ball Washington in Westmoreland County, Virgina. I was my parents' first child together. 

I spent most of my childhood at Ferry Farm. When I was 11, my father passed away and at that age I became a slave owner and had to help my mother take care of the farm. I was not able to get a good education, but I went to a school that was close by in Fredericksburg. 

At the age of 16 I started my first profession which was surveying land in Virginia. I learned to survey from me living with my older half-brother Lawrence.  

My next profession was being an estate owner. This came to be after the death of my brother Lawrence. I became the owner of Mount Vernon and one of the richest planters in all of Virgina. 

In my 20s I started my next profession, which was being involved in wars. I first fought in the French and Indian War and later become a commander of all of Virginia's troops. After this I took a break to continue farming and later came became as the leader of the Continental Army. I lead our Army during the Revolutionary War. 

On January 6, 1758 I married Martha Dandridge Custis and became the stepfather of her two kids. We never had kids together.

After my time as a leader in war I went once again back to my farmer life until, the Constitutional Convention. I attended and helped with setting the rules for our nation. Through our constitution we set the rule that the states choose who is to be the country’s president. With all I had done, I was given the trust and honor to be the United States First President.
