Sometimes there are unexpected surprises at unexpected times.

When I woke up in the morning, the sun was shining on my face. The horrible event in the dream flashed through my mind like a movie. That mysterious forest, the whispers, the people following me and that strange portal... Everything was so real. I looked at the cat sleeping soundly next to me on my bed, so it wasn't all a dream. This tiny creature was the only tangible evidence I had brought back from that terrible forest.
I got out of bed and walked to the window. Everything looked normal outside. The birds were chirping, the neighbors' children were playing in the garden. It was as if last night I was in a different universe, in a different adventure.
I went down to the kitchen and made myself breakfast. As I sipped my coffee, I thought back to the events of last night. Why did those two people want my necklace? That necklace was the only souvenir I had from my grandmother and it was very precious to me. What was I doing in that forest? And that mysterious voice... “Help the cat”... It was as if everything was pre-planned.
After I finished my breakfast, I held the cat in my lap. His fur was silky and warm. I had to give him a name. I named him "Portal" because of that mysterious passage last night. I stroked Portal as he purred in my lap.
I decided to stay at home that day. I still hadn't recovered from the shock of last night. I tried to read books, I watched TV, but my mind was always on that forest and those two mysterious people.
After having dinner, I sat in the living room with Portal when suddenly there was a knock at the door. Who could it be at this hour? I walked nervously to the door and looked through the peephole. There stood one of the two people I had seen in the forest last night!
My heart began to beat rapidly. What should I do? Should I run away, or should I open the door and face them? Just as I was about to turn around and run away, the knock came again, harder this time.
I took a deep breath and slowly opened the door. The man was looking at me with the same menacing expression as last night.
