Once there was a charming mermaid family with a mother. The father had died getting hit by a large ship sailing to shore. From then on, the mother had to raise her ten daughters on her own, along with her assistant seahorse, Pearl. There was also one unique mermaid in the bunch, named Sandy. Sandy also had a partner who was a dolphin, named Charlie. Sandy's other nine sisters are named Christina, Lilly, Carlie, Mya, Missy, Tina, Zoe, Hazel, and Fiona. Carlie, Missy, and Zoe can be bossy or mean sometimes. Pushy. Hazel, Lilly, and Christina are the nice ones. Mya,Tina, and Fiona are in the middle. Sandy was the curious
one. She didn't hang out with her family a whole bunch, so no one really knew what personality she had. The time she was home for meals and bedtime, she was mostly nice. Unlike her other nine sisters and her mother, Sandy didn't hate humans. In fact, she was desperate to learn more about the world above. When they were little merlings, their mother explained, "Humans killed your father. We hate them, and mustn't ever go near them." But Sandy wasn't listening at the time. She was busy studying the world around her with her eyes, while also sitting glued to the spot, pretending to listen. Every day in the afternoon,
would visit her room with Charlie trailing behind her. Sandy collects human gadgets before dinner, and the moment the sun rises, she sets out with Charlie, exploring new places. This was her daily schedule. She had many amazing things that had fallen to the sea floor, although her greatest wish was still to explore where the humans roamed. But no matter how hard Sandy tried, she couldn't get to the surface, because either one of her sisters or her mother spotted her and caught her. It was a Wednesday, 9:00 pm. Everyone had gone to bed, and Sandy heard a ship full of humans partying above. This was her chance! She quickly swam up
to the top of the water. She hopped onto the side of the ship, and peered through the small window. She listened to the loud music booming across the ship. There was laughter, dancing, and wonderfully dressed humans. Sandy saw a handsome man with a crown on walk towards the DJ, and the music quickly changed from jumpy and fast, to slow and calm. The man held his hand out to a beautiful young lady and asked, "Mia, will you dance with me?" Mia softly replied,"Yes, my prince." and blushed. The song ended three minutes later, and fireworks went off as the prince leaned in for a kiss. Just then, a quite small and
plump man asked the prince if he would like any appetizers. The prince refused and walked off. Mia looked a little disappointed, while also still blushing and grinning as the prince walked away. Sandy jotted down some notes in her mermaid notebook she had gotten for her birthday. Right when Sandy was about to hop off the ship's ledge, she heard lightning strike its steering wheel. Before Sandy could move a muscle, Charlie dragged her back into the water. As Sandy and Charlie quickly swam down to the sea floor, Sandy spotted the prince drowning. Sandy forced out of Charlie's grip, and darted to rescue the
king. She wrapped her arms around his, and swam him up to the shore. Sandy sang a beautiful short song in her most lovely voice before she headed back down to her house so she wouldn't get caught by a human, or a family member. Sandy especially wanted to avoid Missy. She's a huge tattle tale, and she wakes up early to collect seashells for breakfast. Back on the shore, Mia found the prince lying on the ground. Mia's best friend/assistant, Carol, followed behind her. "Prince! Prince! Are you alright?" asked Mia concerned. The prince woke up with a startle. "Yes, yes, I am alright. But something amazing just happened. The girl of my
dreams was right in front of me while I was half asleep half awake. She had this beautiful voice, and she saved my life!" The king jumped up and protested, "The moment I find the girl, I am going to marry her, no matter what she looks like. We can always fix her up!" Mia stood up too. "But my prince, it could be dangerous! That girl could be tricking you! Or maybe wants to steal you!" The prince yelled, "First of all, Mira, I am not your prince! I am whoever that girl was' prince! Second of all, I don't care what she does to me or my kingdom! She saved my life!" The prince ran off to his castle, leaving Mira there along with Carol.
Mira was furious! This girl even stopped the prince from calling her nicknames! Like the one that always made her smile, Mia. But Mira was ready with a plan: Mira happens to know the sea witch, Ula. She is a squid-lady who has potions for everything! No one has that beautiful hypnotizing voice, but mermaids. And every mermaid's dream is to explore the world above right? Well that little mermaid and Ula can make a deal. The mermaid hands over her voice for a chance to be human for a week. Ula gives Mira the mermaid's voice, and her and Carol dress up as completely different people. Mira sings with her new voice, passing
by the prince's castle. The prince hears it, he marries Mira, and boom! Just what Mira wanted. She even has her and the prince's wedding planned out. That morning, Sandy woke up with a note beside her bed. The note read: "Dear Sandy, I have a special offer for you at my sea cave. You trade your voice for a week of being human on shore! You know where I am if you are willing to take it! From, Ula." Sandy quickly woke up Charlie and told her about the offer. "Doesn't that seem a little sketchy?" asked Charlie. "Of course not!" replied Sandy. "It's a one in a lifetime opportunity!Let's go!" One minute later, Sandy spotted a huge
green cave. "That must be Ula's cave!" exclaimed Sandy. "Come on!" Sandy quickly swam toward the cave with a worried Charlie behind her. When she peered through the cave opening, she saw an octopus with purple tentacles and green hair waving for her to come over. Charlie stayed behind to make sure nothing bad happened. She watched closely as Ula said, "All you have to do is sing, and when you can't anymore, the magic worked!" Ula poured a few potions into her cauldron and gave a signal for Sandy to start singing. It was the most beautiful thing anyone's ever heard. Meanwhile, Mira had a mirror that showed her what was
